I need cliff notes of this, a lil confused, if i currently dont do this "swap/change" then my LEDS will burn out more easily? Because they are running higher voltage right - the ones for actual turn signal. And DRL is supposed to be a lower voltage?

I think someone else said the same thing, but another poster came up and said he tested the voltage and they were not the same or not as high as turn signal voltage or something???
I've had my amber led DRLs on full bright for a year and mine are still fine

Does anyone know what the “secret key procedure” is in alpha? I’m attempting to replace my rfhub and program keys for remote start on my 16 ram 2500. When I try to program keys to new rfhub tells me to do secret key procedure

You will have to obtain the code from the dealer. It's unique to your truck.

The FSM mentions a rolling code that is only good for 12 hours that can only be obtained from the dealer through DealerConnect. This is in the procedure to install a new RFHM

Now that you say this, @rackemron4 is the only other member that we know of that tried doing the full pre-2017 remote start install himself, and none of us ever thought to tell him that it’s the ROLLING PIN that was needed! I guess it would stand to reason, new hub, new keys...

Rolling code? There’s another code I need? I do have my 4 digit code from the dealer is that not good enough? I’ve been using that code to update my previous rfhub for tire pressure settings.

433mHz.

PN 68249197AA will work for '14 - '18. There are a handful of other PN's that will interchange as well.

Along the TPMS line, has anyone put a TPMS in the spare? Will it mess with or confuse the other locations somehow while stored, and same when using the spare?

Successfully switched from tpms to tpis but after resetting RF hub my alert light still is on. I was told that latest windows update would address that issue. Anyone else still experiencing this after updating via windows?
What is TPIS?

Since this a time dependent code, perhaps consider letting the dealer get the RFHM running right. Might be next to impossible to get a dealer to let you do the rolling code. From what I read sounds like the vehicle needs to be connected to DealerConnect. Once that rfhub is in your system, you can program your keys with alfaOBD yourself.

Yes but once a led burns out - i have no idea wtf the costs will be to fix it, and if its just a setting in alfa - im just gonna switch it, but like i said, someone tested voltage and it was not as high as it was stated to be......

And I have seen a few oem led projectors with a led burnt out. They are usually on sale in the classified section lol

At this point (365 pages and counting), AlfaOBD needs it's own sub-forum. Separate thread for each procedure. Might make it easier to find answers to questions that have been answered numerous times.

Judging by the settings, the DRLs run at 7.4 volts instead of 13 volts. I have not pulled out the multi-meter to check though. On another note, my brother-in-law's twin is picking up a 2016 Laramie tomorrow and he's in Canada so his DRLs are on from the factory. I will get a BCM dump from his truck and get that posted here and we will have the answers we need for the factory settings for DRLs.

@Ricks Ram and @Ghost_RAM I activated my CHSML cargo camera(I do not have it physically in yet) in the alfa app today but I do not have the Soft key. Any Help?? This is an 2018 and it should show under apps. in my 8.4. My screen does not have the Controls Icon, my tailgate camera shows up in apps. Should I reset the app. drawer as I see an option for that but it resets them to factory so...…. thanks
I'm a little curious. Why a camera in the CHMSL? Do we need to guard our cargo while driving? LoL

Plenty of times it's good to be able to quickly make sure the load is still secure. I've had instances in the past thinking that a strap slid off and a camera would have been nice to quickly check instead of pulling over.

On my Laramie I used it to watch a load that was a little iffy!! But I use them to hook up gooseneck and fifth wheel trailers!! Same with the tailgate Camera I use it to help hook up trailers and for backing up!! And on occasion I use it to check out a hottie behind me!! LOL

From those settings I'm guessng that you have the Quad style headlights, not Projectors, correct?

Edit, Nevermind, I see @JB1 beat me to the question. :)
