Crew cab models have a "mass damper" weight that seems to be fastened onto/with the left rear most cab body bolt. I wonder if that helps with the drone?

Also curious why the quad cabs *dont* get that damper. Seems like it could only help no matter what the cab size is.

Well I got up early this morning and installed my new Carven Progressive muffler on my 2018 ram. Took it out for a long run to test it at different speeds and different rpm ranges. I’m glad to report that there is no drone in the cab at any of the speeds or RPM ranges that I tried. I do love the sound. They hemi sounds like a big bear ready to eat you when you step on it. But at idle still sounds like the OEM muffler. I am very happy with this muffler and the ease of installation.

One of the biggest differences I found in the sound of my exhaust was when I installed the 5" tips. The sound became a lot deeper and mellower(sp). I have a Magnaflow 22".

Order the fumoto oil drain plug, installed the 180*tstat, changed the tune, getting ready to do the oil spark plugs. Running like a banshee right now! 98k and still going strong!

I have a crew cab and there is def drone at 1400-1600 RPMs. Some people dont mind it, but it's annoying enough to me that I am removing my Carven Progressive. Didnt even have 250 miles on it.

yep i lost some $ on that deal...

same here... i love the sound on the outside though...

i regretted selling it after thinking i should have installed a j-pipe for the drone

Yes--I got them from Matt when I got the truck about 2 years ago. Also had them on my 13. Love the way it sounds

Great job!

Thanks

Having a line to follow really helped alot. I think if I were trying to put it on without that line to follow, it would have turned out horrible... one guy asked the other day if my truck is an SRT. My reply, "Nah, It just looks fast.":D

Red Calipers are next, for even more 'Go fast' looks!

My friend is currently installing my JBA 1 7/8" headers and off road Y pipe. Said all but one drivers side bolts were snapped off, and previous owner tried drilling a passenger side snapped bolt, to no avail.
He was able to tack on bolts on drivers side and remove the snapped ones.
He got lucky with a screw extractor on the passenger side.
Truck is getting dropped off tomorrow to start the show quality paint job with airbrushed subdued flag on the hood.

Installed headlight revolution 1000 lumen reverse led bulb on my 16 Rebel. Now I can see much better in the backup cam.

The I finally made the switch to Redline 5w30. (Was running PUP 5w20 for the 40k life of the truck)

Also spent an obnoxious amount of time reading reviews and topics here on Vararam Air Grabber vs S&B intakes. Like the look of Vararam but I live outside Chicago and the truck is my daily driver. I also work in healthcare and am on call 1/3 of the month and have to drive in any and all weather at all times of day. Therefore I’ve been researching how some have no issues with the Vararam in snow and a few have had some issues.... Love the internet for the ability to research these things but I almost am ocd about it. Lol

Did the same research before I switched mine and I ended up buying an S&B intake.
Very happy with it here in Illinois.

Got my JBA shorties installed but I am thinking I may have a leak, not sure though could just be hearing the normal ticking better now. I really hope there isn't a leak as I don't know if I can make myself go back in there again. This install made putting long tubes on my '02 Z28 look like a walk in the park. I haven't taken it for a drive yet as I am not done with the rear shocks but that should make it obvious if there is a leak.

On a side note while I was crawling around under the truck I found signs that the transmission might have been pulled in the past. There were a couple brackets hanging without bolts for the transmission lines and some other cables but everything else looked good.
