i did this on my 2016 ram 2500 6.4. and i cant seem to get the faults to clear by doing the ABS initialization. any one have any advice?

Did you run the static ECU initialization, then cleared the faults stored in the ABS module. The ABS initialization tab just has the instructions. And the key cycles need to be done

Did you follow this? -any problems encountered during these steps and which faults are still in
Go back to the drop down and select static ECU initialization
Press start and wait to complete
Click on the check engine icon and clear faults
Then cycle key
Click back on the car icon
Select clearing Rolls Information from drop down, then start
After complete clear faults in the Body control module and the engine.
Cycle key

Anybody in the Houston area have the ability to do this and help me out? My tpms and speedometer are driving me nuts! I can meet you anywhere and buy you lunch! I am so glad I found this thread!

I just bought everything and have reset the TPMS. You will need to go to a dealership and get the 4 digit PIN for your BCM. Texan Dodge charged me $25 to get it. I'm actually reading this to see how to do the tire size change as those are the big two for me as well.

I have version 2.1.6.2 with a 17' PW. There were a few differences but overall the write up got me through. I will say I was puckered up for this one. The only parts I didn't understand completely was clearing the body and engine faults. I went back to body computer and cleared faults and so far I have no lights. I did not go into any engine control modules. Speedo is on per GPS so now the only question I have is do these settings stay after a dealer re-flash? I did wait to do this after I had all of the current recalls done so hopefully they stick if I ever have to do any others.

If the dealer does a BCM reflash, your gonna lose your AlfaOBD changes. The only recall I know of that would require that is the one for the park pin.

However techs have been known to go rogue and flash modules not required. For this reason I have a list of changes I have made with AlfaOBD so if I lose it I know what I will need to change back.

It worked fine for my 2016 Mega so you must be missing a step somewhere along the way. Did you connect to the engine module then clear faults?

Go back and try to clear them again and see what happens?

I’m an idiot once I turned engine on the light went off. This was first thing I did using AlfaOBD and when cycling I noticed the check engine light on which normally does but typically don’t pay attention because one I cycle and plug light goes out I start my truck not paying attention to the lights. So I got it figured out.

Do you have to get a new pin every time you change something? Or is it the same pin

Once you get your 4 digit numerical pin from the dealer, it is yours to keep and stays the same.

I can't get the tire size change to stick. I got to the point earlier for doing the abs relearn and I couldn't get it to go through it kept failing on the clear roll part. So I left it for awhile and came back later and everything was back to normal. My logs from Alfa still show the stock tire size. Any tips?

1st attempt today, and had all sorts of problems...missed critical steps=brainfart.

So, started fresh and went step by step, and it worked like a charm. The wagon came stock with 33s, put on 35s and consistently 2 to 3 mph over. She now shows actual mph, and it seems like my gas mileage is compensating a little...or is it a dream? Excellent write up!

I live in Magnolia and have alpha and the reader if you want to give it a shot. I haven't messed with tire size or tpms yet.

What number did you go with for your tire size, did your dash light up with faults after changing the tire size.

I tried 2774mm. I got all the blinking lights and errors. When I was trying to do the abs reset it kept failing on the clearing rolls. My digital speedo just had dashes and the errors wouldn't clear. I shut it off and went back an hour later to try the abs reset again and everything was back to normal. I'm gonna try it again this weekend when I have more time.

Am I correct that the pin is not needed for this adjustment? I don't understand when a 4 digit pin is needed and when it isn't.

PIN is not needed for tire size change. It is used when changing the TPMS pressure thresholds though.

Quick write to help with this. However I bear no responsibility for any changes that you might not like. Only ones you do.

Start off with key in run.
Open app
Select dodge/ram button, Ram 1500 or 2500 From drop down, Body Computer, then body computer MY2013-2017
Connect then click on the icon at the bottom with the hood open
From the drop menu select "Program tire size"

Right above start on this page is a text box that allows you to input the tire circumference in mm or you can use the drop menu to select a preprogrammed size. (Best way to get your mm number is to measure mounted height and then do your conversion, always round up or down to a whole number. This might take a couple adjustments from that to get perfect at 60.)
View attachment 145954

Press start and it should take a couple seconds to complete.
Once done back out to main page.

Cycle the key, at this point you can get all kinds of lights on the dash, so then you need to do the abs module.

Now select dodge/ram button, Ram 1500 or 2500 From drop down, ABS, then ABS Ate/Continental

Connect then click on the icon at the bottom with the hood open
From the drop down select ABS iniatiliazation
View attachment 145952

Read the instructions

View attachment 145951

Go back to the drop down and select static ECU initialization
Press start and wait to complete
Click on the check engine icon and clear faults
Then cycle key
Click back on the car icon
Select clearing Rolls Information from drop down, then start
After complete clear faults in the Body control module and the engine.
Cycle key
Once complete start your ram and take it for a spin, and check speed vs a gps. If your still off you can redo the process and adjust as needed.

This was performed on a 2018 Ram 2500 with version 2.1.4.0 on a android with OBDlink MX and a bypass cable

If anybody has noticed any differences on their vehicles or has any input to edit this let me know.

This failed on my 2018. On the abs initialize screen I hit start and the button does nothing. I’m using a known tire in the system with 2570mm diameter and now I get all the faults c0038. No matter what order I do these steps it’s persistent and does not clear.

Did you enter 2570 size manually?
