View attachment 144735 Since my truck is a "Tradesman" it didn't even have provisions for fog lamps and living in the Delta region of California they are a MUST have,, I installed RIDGID 50481 D LED lamps using custom brackets that bolted to the inner tow hook bolts. Work great and the will light up the world..View attachment 144735

I have been eyeballing these exact lights.
Can you take a few shots of them on shining down a road at night? Just a shot or 2 of just these lights. And then a shot or 2 with headlights. Which headlights do you have also? Just so we know what we are looking at.

Hi All, a question:

My oem lights are pretty bad, and I'm looking to improve my visibility when I'm driving fast on a dark highway. Will these fog lights help me see far down the highway, or are they mostly for lighting up the area near the truck? Thx

Doubt the fog lights will assist you with what you want to do.

You would be better served by upgrading headlights to HID projectors.

I have the Morimoto as well they are super bright out of the box. Hard to get an idea of brightness from a pic but they are super bright. This pic was during the daytime but overcast/raining

Any good shots of them at night? I had the Morimoto fogs on my F-150 and was less than impressed by them...

I like what you have done and was thinking of doing the same with a full light bar.....except like you Texas requires a front license plate, which mounts across the recessed gap between my tow hooks. This means I must mount two short light bars on either side of the license plate mount. I noticed your license plate is mounted lower. Did you only bolt it to the lower bolt holes?? Also can you show what you did for the mount brackets?
Thank you in advance for any help here!! I don't want to have to reinvent the wheel if there is already a good solution.

I had a set of morimotos om my 1500 Silverado, parking lights were brighter. I couldn't even tell they were on with my headlight on. Hopefully they made an improvement because it was a big waste of money.

I ended up with rigid SAEs, THOSE you could tell were on and still had a flat beam.

The beam pattern does toss light at a wider angle. As far as hualing ass in the dark upgrade your headlights.

I run the moriomoto fogs and enjoy the added clarity in the ground and wider pattern.

I have seen many photos of morimoto fogs and LED bulbs. The LED bulbs in the factory lights are the way to go. The morimoto ard wide, but not bright at all compared to LED bulbs.

I'm looking for some options in my 2018 factory housings, pretty mixed reviews so far in my research. Have any suggestions?

I bought a set of used factory fog light housings with diode dynamics LED bulbs for $150 off off a guy. They sell for around $150 a set. Same as i paid for the lights and housings. Brightest I have seen so far.

Does the Morimoto Fog light re-use the vertical aiming screw and adjustment knob? If not, is there anyone willing to sell me one for a great price?

Yes. When you uninstall the factory housing the bracket will need to be transfered to the morimoto light. You might need to massage the holes on the bracket to accept the lights but they fit.

I’m not happy with my set. On my ‘14 Laramie I had to use a concentric bit to enlarge the holes on the factory fog bracket, significantly weakening it and preventing me from going back to stock. As I tighten the height adjustment screw the whole thing pops out. The drivers side is fine but the passenger side is pointing up at the trees. When I get a break in traffic I’ll test em and they seem like a minimal improvement. Save your money towards an HID/projector upgrade.
