I need HELP!!! My 97 ram 1500 5.9L 360 4x4 is running weird. When I put the truck under torque ( going up an incline) it wants to jerk and shut the truck off. If anybody knows anything about what's going on please assist me. I replace both axle fluids, along with the transfer case fluid. The universal joints on the front drive shaft went out so I replaced them. After putting the driveshaft back on, I noticed a motor mount was loose so I tightened it up. The truck didnt start running weird till I replace the universal joints.

Sounds to me like an issue with the new universal joints. Either bad from factory or potentially not installed correctly? I’d check there first

Hey buddy. I have not had any responses to my questions in this forum.

But as for your problem is your truck getting enough fuel?

It is now. I finally found a pattern in what was happening. The truck would only die with less than 1/2 a tank of gas. The fuel pump was overheating so I replaced the sending unit and the filter was very clogged up as well. Trucks been great now

Matt Raymond/ would it matter if the driveshaft is out? It does it even when it's out of the truck . However they do seem to be properly installed. I have got under the truck while it was rolling and everything seems to be right.

Do you have any engine codes? Does it do it warm and cold? How many miles and have you ever had service done to the driveshaft? I'd also be curious as to if you bumped the speed sensor when you were replacing the U-joints?
