I picked up a painted to match OEM bug deflector. Blends in really well.

Yes I have noticed it(I have the AVS, don't recall which model)but since the hood is made out of aluminum no worries about rust. In an unrelated case if you remove the front frame bolts water pours out of those even worse. I was looking for a suspension clunk a few months ago and found that out.
Aluminum still corrodes. Ask me why my stock aluminum hood had paint bubbles on the front edge corner areas above the headlight. Water gets in with salt and sits and corrodes. I learned on my last truck and on my 18 I sprayed fluid film inside the hood holes to keep that $hit from happening again. My truck was less than 3years old before the bubbles started.

I guess you’re up North right? Everything pretty much rusts or corrodes away up there doesn’t it. I bet improper paint prep probably played some part in it too.

Thanks so much for sharing this! A few months after I purchased my 2012, I scored a deal on a Mopar chrome deflector and have been running it since. Nearly seven years of use are really starting to show in the form of a small handful of scattered nicks (which are totally beginning to bug my OCD cleaning side.. I just can't buff them out!). So I've been hunting for another deal.. I was planning to simply replace it with another identical chrome, but this! This is the ultimate upgrade and would work perfectly with my paint matched visors. It never even dawned on me to have my deflector paint matched. What a concept! Thanks again.. I'm off to hunt for one of these right now! :)

Oh.. and btw.. Hi Arth :p Fancy meeting you here. I see you have a different Ram then last I saw.. may wonders never cease. LOL

Does anybody notice more or less wind noise with either the hood deflector or window deflectors installed?

I ask because my 18 has significant wind noise at interstate speeds. Even worse on a windy day.

Yep!I have the AVS hood and window deflectors on my 15 SLT and there is a small amount of wind noise that I never had before.

I added a sport hood to mine so I only use the hood deflector in the winter so it doesn't get blasted with salt and sand.Comes off in the summer.

2019 Bighorn, 4 X 4, OEM alum hood. I have on an : AVS Aeroskin II deflector. Air noise sounds about the same, but than my senility/dementia kick in. And I always have the radio on. According to ad, supposed to deflect air. I got it because:
1) Was free ($109 to $129)
2) Does protect the nose of the truck (unsure about debris towards windshield)
3) I got the matte black, did not want Shiny, (Got enuf chrome for the shiny stuff)

added: for ne body that is thinking of ordering, do not forget Gen 5 hood diff, so U have to get Gen 5 specific

Not to thread jack, but has anyone else noticed since installing there visor that when you open the hood water pours out of the holes on the underside of the hood? Specifically the passenger side? The AVS has you remove the rubber gasket that goes across top of the gril before installing

Yes, but I noticed it before I put on the bug deflector. It happened when I opened the hood to remove the rubber weatherstripping across the front of the hood. Was considering putting some plastic plugs in the holes from the rubber strip but haven't done anything yet. I'm going to see how much and how often this happens. I haven't really driven this truck in the rain, it's stood out in the rain though. So it might have something to do with where the water drains. I have pressure washed the truck before also, so it's possible it came from that too. Not really sure.

Do you have to remove the rubber gasket on the front of the hood for all brands or do some allow you to keep it? I can not get my weather tech to fit with it on but it doesn’t mention anything about it in the directions.

I was able to keep mine with the OEM bug guard.

I have the AVS and seems the seal had to be removed. If anyone on Long Island wants one, it’s yours for your rubber gasket!

EGR unit. Hood seal removal required. Going to color match it this spring sometime.

I don't run the bug deflectors however every vehicle I own usualy gets the in channel Weathertech vent visors.

I've yet to purchase for my 19 Classic but on my 11 it definitely increased the wind noise just the same as everything else I put them on.
