Anyone running the Supernova V.4 LED headlights for a late model (2016 ish) Ram with projectors? I’ve read good things on the Toyota forum but have not been able to find a Ram discussion.

Thanks!

They don't fit under the dust cap, but they did work very well. Headlight Revolution said they are aware and working towards a solution though.

Thank you. Looks like HID for my RAM.

Hello, I just received a pair of Supernova V4 and placed them in my 2015 with projector headlights. Out of all the ones I had that we're replaced under warranty, these by far fit the best. The dust cover does fit with them in place but they are snug, once you tighten the screws down it does seal. DO NOT over tighten, once.the caps seals stop. You can hear the cooling fans running when you turn on the lights if you place your ears next to the housing. These lights throw the best amount of light down the road and I am happy with them so far. I just hope they last longer then the last two sets. Seems like one always burns out every year.

Thanks for the feedback. For the amount of work it is to change the headlights on these Rams I’ll be going with HID. I had Retroshop HID lights in my 2014 and they were great.

I just don’t feel the reliability issue, mechanical cooling fans and dust cap clearance problem make it worth the effort to go LED.

HID is tried and true with years of runtime on them. My wife’s SC430 is a 2002 with the original HID bulbs still running. Of course I can now expect to have to change them this week. :)

I understand your concern. I have the same feeling. I just don't want to drill holes in my sealed headlights. They are very expensive to replace. I can not.locate any dus t covers only . So that is why I choose to run the LED lights again.

To follow up I could get the driver side dust cap to close but the passenger side wojkdntw come close. Even getting close to being sealed would force the adjuster to pop out. So it seems like it varies whether it fits or not. But headlight revolution will send deeper dust covers to fix the issue if they don't fit now

Mine has the stock covers and I purchased the lights from the company you mentioned. I did not know they offered the deeper covers. Such a smart idea. I will state that the V4 bulb is way brighter than the V3 bulbs. What ever you pick are all good choices.[emoji106]

Any chance you could take a pic, from inside the truck, at night to show the light output?

When I added the LED bulbs to my projectors, I used a heat gun and a door knob to reform the dust cap enough to fit over the bulbs. You just have to be careful not to deform the box shape of the cover and just bubble out the backing a little. Worked perfectly and seals perfectly.

As per your request Gregdad,. Here are a few pictures of the Supernova V4 in action. First pic is low beam only. Second pic is low beam and fog lights and the last is low beam and high beam. I hope this helps you guys out. a560ffbc87f9d5ae74f5aeb22d532c86.jpg632830b3635a57ca3b1c18fe1d8d9928.jpg484c32f4103bd8d4ac92647952e7aee7.jpg

Wow. Very nice lighting. I am having a hard time distinguishing between low beams only and low beams with fogs.

I sent a question to the HR folks and asked them about the deeper dust caps. They acknowledged they have them. But I will only order if I can get them with the lights. I am not opening up the front end of my truck to get to the headlights twice when they can ship me a couple of pieces of plastic with the LED's.

Wow those look great! Nice pattern and bright. I did reach out to HR and he tried pushing me towards a $300 set of HID for the low beam. Can do the lows and fogs for the same money in supernova. I was between the DD SL1 and supernova V.4.

I don't see any difference between the low beam only and low beam with fogs, maybe if it was a down the road shot?

I’m assuming the fogs are still stock and being over powered by the new low beams.
I have led fogs only and they are almost too bright.
I wonder how much extra the deep dish covers are?

I ordered a set of the V.4. Going to run higher powered (100w) 9005 halogens in the 6000k color for high beams and 6000k color fogs so everything matches.
