I have a 14 ram sport with the alpine..
I've upgraded the dash speakers with jls and have 2 10" jl w3 in a fox box..

Still want more..not sure if swapping the door speakers would do anything..

You can go full-on crazy with a system based off of the factory Alpine head unit. I’m living proof LOL.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I’ll attach a couple photos to show what is possible.

Holy moly...nice setup...I'm just looking for a bit higher his. And mids...
I listen to a lot of country and rock..also lots of old school hip hop..

I find that I have the stereo as loud as it will go..just doesn't seem to be enough..

I have two jl w3..with a bassknob to adjust for what I'm listening to at the moment

You can swap in different speakers (search here for models that people have used) and get a little better sound. It will never be great while using the factory amp though.

You can do a nice system for about $1,000 to $1,500.

Which Model JL did you use in the dash corners? Also, how did you hook up your subs and amp? What model amp on the subs?

Assuming the dash speakers are coax (built in tweeters), you could swap midbass speakers into the front doors and run the fronts as a two way component system. Then use 6.5” coax in the rear doors.

You could power it all with a single JL VX800/8i which has a built-in DSP. I say the 8 channel so that you can bridge 2 channels to each midbass. It’s all controlled by an app.

To get the signal from the factory Alpine, use a PAC Audio AmpPRO. It will give you the cleanest signal and make it easy with RCA connections for front, rear, and sub. If you do this, change the sub input to use the PAC. It gives you a fuller sub signal than the factory wires.

The line-in converter works well on the sub channel alone. The issue with pulling signal from the other channels is that they split the frequencies between speakers and you have to sum them back together into a single left/right pair. My installer and I fought with that for months before getting it to work reliably. As soon as the PAC was released we swapped that in and everything just worked.
