My 2016 had a considerable leak that was easy to fix once I found it. The cabin flapper vents between cab and bed had no effective seals. I have a thread on here about it and it was an easy fix. Both sides (driver and passenger) leaked, but the driver side was worse. I think I was the first to document it. No leaks since.

Does this apply to 2015 crew cabs as well?

Yes I have gone thru this. My dealer, and the RAM care folks, basically looked up the original sticker price of my truck and told me to pick out any truck they had in stock for that price and up to over $500 above that price. They then cut me a check to cover the additional accessories I had on the original truck. They did the title/warrantee swap with the credit union, the state registrations and the Chrysler warrantee folks. I didn't have to do much of anything, except bring the old truck in and drive the replacement one out. They even swapped the wheel I had on the old one and put them on the new one, no charge. It did NOT matter what I actually paid for the original truck, not one bit, nor that I had just shy of 8K on the truck. good luck.

What was the issue with your truck that made them do that for you? Whatever it was, I think my truck has that same problem...

I'm sure most are correct in believing that they will not replace the truck for a water leak. What if that leak has turned the interior into a hazmat pool? Is there black mold inside that makes the truck unusable? Seems that is a different level of liability for the manufacturer.

I would imagine that it would be cheaper to replace all the fabric than to buy back the truck. Once they remove all the fabric pieces, treat and clean the metal, I can't see how it would continue to be a hazmat issue.

i went through a water leak issue with my old 2013 gmc sierra, went back to the dealer 8 times. i got lemon law involved and that was a mistake. talking to a friend of mine that works for volvo corporate his advice afterwards was i shoul've kept dealing with the factory. at one point after the dealer drilled a "drain hole" under one of the sill plates i spoke to the dealers GM and he said "lets get you in another truck" and i said i want this one fixed. that was the dumbest thing i ever did. after waiting a year with lemon law i ended up getting 5300.00 back in my pocket. if the factory is offering a new truck my advice is to take them up on it, i would.

I had a water bleak in the cab of my 15 big Horn. Couldn't figure out why the inside of windows were fogging. Opened storage buckets under rear seats and both were nearly half full of water. Dealer had someone come in replace and reseal third brake light, cleaned truck up real nice, and I haven't had a problem since, (knock on wood). Good luck hope you figure it out.

Don't know why it wouldn't, since there's no difference between the cabs. There is no doubt that's where water was getting into mine. I could see it dripping in after the inside panel was removed. Look at my thread for pictures.

Yeah. I'm not getting my hopes up, but after I talked to an attorney they said that the amount of time the truck spent at the dealership trying to get the leak issue fixed (1 month) the first time, applies under the California lemon law. He said take it to the dealership to have them fix it a third time and then after they fix it take it to a car wash, run a water hose on it and if it leaks again give him a call. California doesn't mess around when it comes to lemon law.

My Question, as well.

It had a leak, they had it for a month, then it got fixed and now the leak is back?
If correct, just how did they fix the leak, originally?

I have no experience with the Buy Back but with 2009 Ram I did have a in the Cab which filled the storage areas under the back seat when it rained. The dealer was diligent in locating the leaks and attempting to fix them. The leaks were in the rear of the Crew Cab and relieved pressure when closing the doors. The dealer after staying with attempted repairs was able to fix it. Continued excellent service by Eddie Gilstrap Motors in Salem, In. I am suspect it all resides in the level of service your dealer wants to provide.
