I have a 2016 Ram 1500 and I'm in line to get some new brake pads and I was looking at AutoZone's Duralast Max Brake Pads (Ceramic). If I don't have to go Mopar, I'd like not to but want some pads that are going to last, not squeak and do a good job.

I rarely do any towing/offroading and no tracking so mainly just do some street/highway driving.

EBC green stuff pads hands down. I have them installed on my truck and also put on EBC dimpled/slotted rotors. Big improvement over stock. No noise at all and very minimal brake dust.

Agreed Mopar Brent. I put EBC Greens (the LT version as there are two versions) and their black coated rotors and was blown away and how much better my brakes were. Initial bite is excellent as well

Centric 106 series Posi-Quiet Severe Duty Brake pads ... I’ve been very happy with them, and my truck use is similar to yours

I have heard a lot about EBC brakes while researching this topic. What kind of longevity do you guys get out of your brakes?

I couldn’t tell you yet I only have about 8000km on my EBC brake kit. But they are amazing. I will be sticking with EBC on all my future vehicles.

Agree with #4. We can spend $12 for pads or $40-60 for brand quality that matches your rotor quality. OEM pads are not high quality. Cheap parts store pads are like cheap parts store oil. The results with be what you pay for. Today's brake choices are many. A high carbon steel rotor that never needs to be turned (i.e. Raybestos severe duty) requires a matching pad like the EBC.

Anything is better than the factory pads... My brakes squeel louder than a Liberal at Trumps acceptance party.

Mine squeek more like a lonely snowflake locked in their room since Trump took office when I come come close to a complete stop. It started around 40k miles but I still have lots of pad left.. :(

EBCs. I have put them on all (5) of my vehicles (including my Harley). They are much better than stock. Go with Green Stuff 7000 and the Slotted rotors (slotted&dimpled if money allows.)

So since some time has passed, how many miles did you guys get out of your ebc slotted rotors and green stuff pads? Have you had to change them out yet? I have read that slotted wears out the pads more quickly, and there are a couple of reviews that said they only lasted 8-10K miles.

I just put Raybestos Element 3 hybrid ceramic/semi metallic pads and rotors front and rear on my 2017 1500. Just finished 2 hours ago! The sticky parking break levers are a PITA! At least I got away with being able to free them up and lube them instead of replacing the parking brake which is a royal PITA! They Element 3s get excellent reviews, look like excellent quality products, and were pretty inexpensive on Rockauto.com.

anyone use Powerstop brake products ?
Me.

I had PowerStop pads/rotors on my 2013 Laramie and also installed PowerStops on my 2015 3500 and my wife's 2013 Equinox. In all installations, there was a very noticeable improvement over the factory brakes, most notably on the 3500.

I know there are other braking solutions out there but I can only comment on the factory brakes and the Power Stop brakes on a Gen 4 RAM 1500 and 3500.

I'm always keeping my eyes open on replacement brakes albeit I am likely several years away from having to do a brake installation since the 2013 1500 was recently replaced with a 2022.

On my 2014 RT I put R1Concept Geomet rotors and ceramic pads and man what a difference. It feels like it stops better than the Charger HCWB I have. I have the Powerstops on my Charger and I really like them. They are almost as good as stock but do not have a lot of dust and will not eat my rotors like the factory Brembo's.

Like you mentioned the Parking Break Pads are a Royal PIA lol
Mine were simple to do. I dropped my RAM off to my Mechanic and let him deal with it lol
But was tld and have read use the Parking brake once in awhile to cycle the cables and parts ! That helps.
My pads fell apart and were never used !
And at 69 y/o my wrenching days are over lol

Yes, I'm only 59 but I would like my wrenching days to be over too. Instead, I'm divorced, a divorce cost me about $750k at this point, and I'll always be wrenching and working. My ex pissed all the money away and has nothing to show for it either. That's exactly what happens when socialism, which is often a bigger factor than law in divorces, gives working people's money to non-working people. Lol

Right now i can't work on my Ram.
Caught the regular flu 1 month before Covid struck the world.
I had COPD & after i came out of 5 days in the hospital, i have not been able to even walk around & i gained 40 pounds.
My life turned into something involving 7 Medical Specialists

Just changing the Ram air filter has become a chore :(
