Finished the front seat covers for my '17 RAM 1500 Quad Cab, now moved onto the rear seats.

I started with the 40% part of the rear. Seat bottom install went easily. Seat back is another story.

I cannot get the bottom corners of the seat back cover over the metal frame of the seat....I can pull (harder than I probably should) and it still wont clear. And even if it did I would worry that the rounded end of the brace would poke through it.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Can you take a picture of exactly what your talking about? I didn't have any issues with mine. It's also a Quad Cab but they were from LeatherSeats.com.

On 60% seat back, one of the long clips were backwards and therefore made me think i needed to pull and flip much further then needed. I ended up just hog ringing the two together at the end. I also did Katzkins.

Thanks guys....I managed to finally get it.

All it took was a little steam to relax the material (in that area I think its vinyl). Was still tight but once it was over the "hump" it fit better and isnt really stretched. I think the issue was that there are 2 or 3 seams coming together in that one area, along with having to go over the pipe/brace where the seat pivots from, all added up to needing a lot of persuasion.

I wish I tried this last night, as a few of the threads black plastic clips got stretched in my efforts to make everything fit. Luckily its the seat back so I dont think it will ever be an issue.

@spdglez78 I see what you are talking about with the clips....havent pulled my 60 yet, but the clips on the 40 worked like the head rests - the "flatter" of the clips needs to be folded under the material and then snapped into the "R" shaped clip. The result is you see the material and none of the clips. Im not sure if they did something different on the 60, should get to that seat later today.

Ask and ye shall receive :)

All that is left is the headrests. Ended up with a small scratch in one of the rear seatbacks, you can see white material under the gray but the shop I ordered the covers from said I should just be able to use a touch up marker to blend the color back in and it shouldnt get worse since its not a cut or anything.

Other than that minor thing, everything else was good. The rear backs took me for a loop and some of the threads are stretched because it was so hard to get everything over the seat back frame, but since its stationary Im thinking they wont get any worse. Plus they are on the BACK of the seat backs so you'll never see it.

I also added seat heaters to the bottom and back of the outer seating positions. The harder part will be running the wire to power them....not anytime soon since its so cold out (which is ironic because that is when you need heated seats :) ). The front seats were factory cloth with heat already on them, all I did was replace the cloth with my leather covers so once they are re-installed I can use AlfaOBD to enable front heated seats.

BTW Ive been told that the wrinkles will mostly disappear over time with sun and heat. Not sure when I will install the seats in the truck since we dont have much heat OR sun lately, but even sitting in my basement I can see improvement in the front seats already. The backs should hopefully start acclimating too (just put the covers on today)
