I see...I think you misunderstood. The antenna will let you know if you'll fit before your roof comes into contact to avoid damage.

Correct. I have pre-determined this and now have switched antennas and don’t have to worry about it hitting. I use the same car wash and don’t park in parking Garages. So I’m good. That’s why I put in a smaller antenna.

I and many have cut theirs down because they oscillate at highway speeds and its distracting. Cutting them down a bit stops this.

What do you consider "highway speeds"? I ask because max speed limit up here, even on the interstates, is 65mph (so most folks don't go faster than 75) and I've never experienced that problem. I do recall the speed limit being higher in some of the more southern states from my last trip down that way though...

about 55mph or more...…….. I used to drive about 120/day on the interstate and it was pretty annoying seeing the antenna out of the corner of my eye fluttering around in the wind.

I've got some serious OCD about my windshield being clean, but I have never been annoyed by my antenna moving in the wind...

A couple of points about a few of the recent mods being discussed so you don't have to read every post (or other ones).

Tailgate assist. 100% awesome. I don't think there is a better mechanical/operational mod for under $30. You'll ask yourself why you didn't do it sooner.

Antenna. As long as you live close enough to the radio station(s) you listen to, a stubby works. If you're rural, a stubby (or cutting stock one down) won't pick up stations as well as a full-length antenna. It's just the science of radio waves. There are some stubbies better/worse than others- I think it's the quality of the connecting metal/threads. Check reviews before you buy one.

The seat mod. There are two safer alternatives to using washers. One is using a metal bar instead of washers and longer bolts. The other is cutting off part of the seat hook (several videos online).
Pros to washer: reversible, cheap. Cons: not structurally safe, lose 5/8-3/4" headroom
Pros to bar: safer, reversible. Cons to bar: more expensive, lose 5/8-3/4" headroom
Pros to cutting hook: safer, cheap. Cons: not reversible
If you use washers or a bar, PLEASE use longer bolts and loctite.

color matched front window tint, vent visors, Tinted tail lights and third brake light, stainless door pillar trim. Will be doing tailgate assist in the very near future.

Just got and put on my silver letters. Breaks up the drab black radio bezel.
I agree, it looks good.and I like the idea of matching the body color. I am curious on how it would hold up in Texas summer heat.

This particular mod might force me to figure out what accent color I want to use, since I don't figure black lettering would make much of a difference in appearance there...
