I learned two things on this post:

1. Infotainment can program a gauge cluster when I want to upgrade to the fancy gauge cluster on my 2018.

2. Don’t buy a vehicle from K-Dawg

I would never engage in any shady or illegal activities. I was only relating .....um.....stuff I heard other people talking about that....uh.... they heard other people might have been doing. Yeah...that's how my wife.....Morgan Fairchild.....explained it to me.

That's precisely why I have an OBD Diagnostic Scanner not just the cheap scan tools you get at autozone or where ever it's a Tech quality device that reads every control module in the vehicle and yes it's easy to see if the mileage matches the cluster. I caught one person selling a Tahoe with supposedly low miles on when I hooked my scanner to it and the mileage didn't match he claimed he didn't know why but he also claimed to be the original owner so you tell me needless to say did not buy that truck

Thanks for posting this company's info. My cluster has a dead zone in the lighting.. a small section of the RPM dial (which I've been told cannot be fixed - requiring a total cluster replacement).. and I've been hunting for a replacement cluster that has the closest mileage to mine. Knowing that there are companies out there that can alter a replacement cluster to match your truck's actual mileage is a God send. This way, I won't have to guesstimate my mileage after replacing the cluster.. it can be exact. And I would imagine that this method, for the purpose I would be using it, is completely legit and legal. Now to find a cluster. Thanks again!

Fyi I sent a cluster to this business for 2012 Their program is for 2013 up, so they were not able to help me. Ended up buying another cluster close to my milege. If your near 90k I have a premium cluster for sale.

Just talked to @NavRepair.com today after they received my order and got it all programmed. I’ll have it back in my hands next week. All told, that’s exactly a one week turn around. Cost was $117.99 to program and ship my cluster back to me. I can’t wait to install it @R.L.K.

I got mine from My local Mac Tool dealer a few years ago. the nice thing is the software is updateable. Any of the Big Quality tool guys should have something just do a little research on what their scanner can and can't do and what you want it to do. The one I have can read all the modules read live stream data, print data to my pc, clear trouble codes. I can't flash the computer but there are ones that can if your willing to pay for it. I used mine with foreign and domestic makes. Hope this helps, good luck.

Just called Infotainment and they bumped the price up to $149.00. SO far its mileage, drive hours and idle hours. The VIN is not needed.

So... just want to be 100% clear on this. If I pick up a 2014 Ram Big Horn gauge cluster and swap it out with my 2014 Ram Express gauge cluster, I can send it to Infotainment 1st and verify my mileage and engine hours. Then when they send it back to me, it will be accurate and "o.k." to do the swap?

I love my truck but have always thought that the gauge cluster was very "late 90's" feeling. I always heard that you can't swap em unless you find one with slightly more miles than yours and time if perfectly... (I always pictured myself pulled over on the side of a southern California freeway swapping them out at the perfect timing... so I never looked any further).

If this is all true. This is pretty awesome!!

There are several companies that can adjust the millage and hours for you, Infotainment amongst them. Unless you can park the vehicle and not drive it while the new cluster is out being programed you'll still want to have them set it ahead of your current mileage by however much you expect to drive during that time. I had to drive my truck about 10 miles before swapping mine to have it be exactly the same.

Bear in mind the mileage is also sent to uconnect on certain models. It knows my mileage when I log in via my PC to their website.
Also as mentioned earlier, the mileage is sometimes not just written on the cluster gauge. However I doubt the ram has it written anywhere else.

Actually it's in the PCM as well, the dealer (and anyone with an appropriately high level scan tool) can read it from there to compare. It has been observed that there is usually a small difference in the two readings, no more than a couple of miles. It's one of the ways a dealer can tell if a PCM or EVIC has been replaced

Yes but on some vehicles it's on pcm and cluster and keys apparantly. Also on some vehicles where the mileage is changed it changes everywhere. Many different systems implemented by various manufactures.
