I believe in die electric grease as well as the next guy but darn.I had a coil pack go bad so I replaced the plugs and coil packs because it hasn't been done.Well when I pulled the coil pack on number 1 plug there was a ton of grease inside the boot. This wasn't the only coil pack full of the stuff if it wasn't for the nut on the intake manifold the coil pack would pop right out off the plug.Take in mind I wasn't the one who put the plugs in before I bought the truck.I believe in keeping things dry but if you get water on top of that engine that high you got problems.

It's not always for keeping water out. My dad used to do that with plug boots all the time. Put some on a screwdriver and coat the inside of the boot lightly. Lightly being the key here. Made the boots come off easier next time you change plugs. Especially handy with long plug boots like the Hemi.
