I have a 2k12 1500 ST Hemi. It's time to change the plugs(again). Does anyone know what if any plugs I can use that I don't have to change every 32k miles(per owners manual)?

NGK Iridium. 100,000 mi. plugs. OEM on newer Rams.

from what I gather from doing research on various forums and the web in general using anything other than copper can tax the coil packs/ignition system .. if your truck didn't come with platinum's or iridium's don't try to upgrade..

ALSO

I can tell you from experience with my 5.9 in my 2nd gen ram 1500 that when I switched to platinum's in that
my fuel mileage went down by about 1.5 MPG an was told back then that the ignition wasn't designed for them
so I switched back to copper autolites and my mileage came back

YMMV

You can but you need to update the coil packs with it.

Yup, that's the other option - upgrade to 15+ (I think) coil packs. At least that's the theory, haven't heard of anyone doing it and reporting back.

stick with copper...that 30k replacement interval is because of the copper...but that gets you the best performing material.

When I had my 05 4.7 it would go double that without any noticeable difference in performance.

Just saying.

You should pull them and check, many guys are going over 30k, I'm doing mine soon right at 30k. I think it is hit and miss, thus the 30k designation.

I put autolite iridiums in my 2011. Same coil packs. No problems that I’ve seen yet and get the same gas mileage. As long as the spark plugs have all the same specs as the original minus the materials it’s made of (copper or iridium) I don’t see how it can be that different on the coil packs

Before you fork out the money for new coil packs, check the part number and verify it against the part number for the newer HEMI's, that came with the Iridium Plugs.

My 13 Challenger came with Copper plugs, and when I replaced them, I checked the coil packs, and they were EXACTLY THE SAME as the coil packs on the 15+ Challengers that came stock with Iridium plugs. I put Iridium plugs in with the original coil packs and had absolutely no problems, and picked up about 2 MPG, to boot.

This may not be the case on your RAM, but's worth checking out.

Can anyone post a site to get those copper plugs from? I’m currently at 49k miles on my 2011 and want to start getting all the stuff for a nice full tuneup.

Use Champion and do it at 30K

heat range is too high for others.. so do your engine a favor.

Not like the old days where you can just throw in some plats and get HP.

These days, the wrong plugs will hurt more than you know.
