Im also thinking about pulling the trigger on these... I have factory black projectors retrofitted with D2S 4.0 projectors and morimoto 50w HID kit in them but man those lights just look so nice. Should be able to recoup most of the money selling the lights and kit but the output would probably be a step down like you said. I will have to see what I can do to maybe hook in a nice sized light bar to the high beams lol.

Yes there is a noticeable difference. But the more modern look and the reliability of LEDs out weighs the intensity difference.

Yea just waiting for someone to get a real life lux meter reading from in a running truck. Hopefully with more of these popping up someone can even use a crappy phone app to pull some numbers from like 20-25 feet away on a wall. Will give a better idea of how much of a drop.

I’ve had multiple hid kits 35 and 55 watts and I can confidently say this are similar to the intensity of a 35W kit. Just not sure of the true lux. But I’d say TRS lux video is pretty accurate. Headlight revolutions video is a joke.

With the issues that come with them not sure they are worth the price considering what you could build custom for that...

Just wondering if you could gain access to the back of the light for aiming by going in thru the wheel wells? I know you have to open the flap to unlock them, but maybe taking a few screws out and pushing the plastic kinda out of the way.

There are two adjustment screws. Non of which can be accessed from the back. Maybe if you take out the air box for the driver side

So I have a question, probably already been looked at by everyone, but I've never had my lights out so don't know the answer. To aim the lights, can you not hold the light housing right tight to the truck to look at the aim? Or do the screws suck the housing in tighter in a way you can't by hand?? Just to see the aim, then just pull out and adjust the aiming screws a bit?

You can get a decent idea of where they’re aiming but it’s always different when the housings are tight up against their mounting holes

Thanks for the review. I received my set the other day. I believe on another thread you mentioned you did not use the DRL wiring since your OEM headlights already were using DRL. Is that correct?

I have mine installed and still need to adjust the lights. However, the auto dim for brights does not work now. Did you have this issue? I have contacted Morimoto and waiting to hear back from them.

Sounds like an isolated issue. My auto highs work fine. In fact I had to turn them off when i had HIDs but now I can use them again which is nice. Also you can either have your dealer turn on your DRLs buy alphaobd and do it yourself or use the provided harness. The choice is yours

The DRL function was already on. Finally figured out has to be in drive before they lit up. Taking the truck in tomorrow for recall. May ask dealer to check function. Appreciate the input.

DRLs are only supposed to turn on when in gear. Functionality is fine

So I have to add my 2 cents. The headlights are absolutely plug and play for my truck at least. 2014 oem non projector ram 1500 big horn. Two connections with plugs and one connection for the drl . Which was a fuse tap wire which was included . Step by step on their website install advice and I had these ******* installed in under 2 hours in the dark. Very pleased. Recon taillights will be here Tuesday and my lighting build is complete...... for now ...
