I have a 2017, and I can't connect to the mxbluetooth. Also I don't have any of what you show on the first screen. Mine says 2013-2017 Powernet. I have it set to body computer, and have tried both coms listed in the device manager. Keeps telling me to check the baud rate for Elm7? Also in advanced mode, what do I use? I have 20 different listings for Bosh, and several other makes. Alfa build 2.065 Windows 7
That is odd. If you have a OBDLink MX, there is no reason I can think of that it would be telling you to check the baud rate for the ELM7??

I don't see a listing of what you're referring to there either. When I have mine connect to the body computer and look in advanced (which I never do, regular mode always) I show the attached image. Can you post some screen shots?

Hello all,
Is anyone using fog lights as your drl's? If so, could anyone tell me if they drop out with independently with blinkers or remain on?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, that makes more sense!

I thought my truck has a slot in the center of where the keyfob "plugs" into the dash, and I thought that slot was for the actual mechanical key in emergency, although I never tried it.

I have the sentry key in my 2500, and have used a blank key that was programmed to start the truck. So it does not care how the key is cut for the ignition

I have a bit of a Rant, I want to know what any of you guys think. (Posting here do to it's correspondence with the AlfaOBD)

I went to my local Chrysler/Dodge "stealership" today, to ask for my Vehicle PIN code, I have heard that is it suppose to be "Free", as we are the owners of our vehicle, and I have heard that some people were charged around $25 dollars for a print out of their PIN (which I would have been reasonably prepared to pay, given the way dealerships operate).

Well, as I was saying, I went today to get my PIN#, and they told me it would be a ...... $95 charge.
I will say it again.... $95.00 charge.

And they told me that it was directly from Chrysler Corporation that is mandating the charge. The service attendant went on to tell me that because people were selling PIN#'s on the internet, and they were only allowed to give out like 10 PIN #'s each month now. And even if any of that were true, so because someone was selling PIN#'s on the internet, therefore everyone else needs to now "pay the price".
Sounds to me like the "stealerships" are now the ones "selling" "Profiting" off of our PIN#'s.

I am going to try and contact Chrysler about it this week, to see if I can validate any of this claim (like i'm actually going to get any response).
I think I will also start looking at everywhere I can plaster this "extortion" all over the appropriate internet websites.

I would like to know what any of the rest of you think?

Hi guys. My name is David and I'm from Germany. I apologize for my english, that's why I use Google Translator. I do not drive a ram, but a challenger. Have read everything about Alfaobd and the possibilities to make changes. Unfortunately I do not get my Drl activated on the Challenger. I also have an OBD LINK MX. My question to you, if someone can show his Bt_debug.log

My logfile from Dodge is always
build.prop Permisson denied

what is up with you?

If you were using a Windows PC , then I believe you may have to change the com port. Hopefully someone else that uses a PC will confirm.

Ghostman - I checked with several dealers. $30 was typical.. Found one for $20, paid my money and toke my printout.

I called Chrysler and got nowhere.

Dealers do not HAVE to charge for the code, but a few of the dealers told me they have a limit on how many codes they can get per month, so charge a fee to keep everyone from asking for theirs. Crazy, but that's what I found out.

use Android. Connection to the body computer is established. The reversing camera, for example, I could turn on. looks to me as if not a full access to body computer. That's why I want to see what is in your Bt_debug.log

I'm pretty sure the fee is bogus, but I suppose a dealer can do what they want.

A limit on how many they can get per month? Also sounds bogus.... Do they just stop selling fobs until the next month? Selling pins in the internet? Its a 4 digit code.... What is there to sell? Common sense tells you all of the combinations.

I think the dealers are just really good at justifying why you need to pay them for 30 seconds of work.

I got mine for free and it wasn't even from my selling dealer. I went to parts desk with my license and registration in hand and politely asked for the pin and key cut code for my truck.

BTW there is a pin puller app on the play store, app is free but 1 credit to pull the pin is $15. If that's cheaper than your dealer, use the app instead.

Maybe try another dealership? I didn't go to the dealer I purchased from and was still free.

I called dealer where I bought truck...and he said it was state law in MO to give the PIN to owner as you technically owned the PIN upon purchase of the vehicle. They needed me to show in person...to the parts counter (parts counter being key NOT service dept). So I thanked them and called the closest dealer to me (in IA) to see what happened. Much to my surprise they said no problem; come on in with DL and registration to verify you own the truck and it also shows the VIN for them to use to look it up. Went in...showed my DL and registration. He printed the single page report and I was out in 3-4 min at most.

The only thing dealer's have limits on are how many people who can have access to and how many key codes they give out. The RF Hub Pin is completely different and all you need is proof of ownership and your ID. I think that's where dealers get confused. As far as charging for it that's a dealer specific thing. Just a way to make a buck. On page 1 there is a link for the rules for getting key codes which includes the RF Hub Pin. I'd suggest if you are planning to get your pin either print that out and bring it with you or have it pulled up on your phone and have it ready

Thanks for that screenshot! Somehow mine was set to Elm327 rather than OBDLink. Working now, and again, thank you.

You know, my dealer is not what I would call "the best". Quite frankly their Sales dept is pretty slimy and most of the Service dept is half-assed, but I've come to the conclusion that the Parts dept is Top Notch. I had no trouble getting my codes (RF, Key & Radio Security), I was not charged for them and they've been more than willing to lookup up parts that don't technically fit my truck.

I have had the same experience with my dealers parts department. They actually seem to kind of enjoy when I come in with my crazy ideas and look up parts and then show them later that I actually got it to work. Most of the problems are in the service department and the techs being completely uninformed about these trucks.
