Twice a year I use a Griot's synthetic clay thing during a wash, then Collinite. Every month after her wash, she gets rubbed down with a carnauba spray wax.

Last two waxes I tried Meguiar"s Ultimate liquid wax pure synthetic polymer. Did about six months apart. Real easy to apply not hard to wipe off. On a clean truck it took less than an hour. In between waxes I use a brushless auto wash, and sometimes a spray detailer.

Sometimes when you go through the brush less car washes, the pressure doesn't completely wash off all the dirt as well as you could if you would have hand washed your truck. Therefore when you use a spray wax on it after the automatic wash you are rubbing some of the dirt granules with the cloth you are using for the spray wax and putting small scratches in your finish. I realize that sometimes depending on where you live and because of weather, you can't hand wash your truck, however rubbing it with a cloth is going to leave scratches, even if they are very small.

Correct, automatic washes only rinse off the car, they don't wash the car, so never wipe the car at all after an auto wash.

Lol, we Yankees are forced to use the car wash. If not, we have to drive around in a road salt encased Ram. Such is life living up north.

Yeah I get that, I try only to use it between waxes. I pressure wash at home, then hand wax. When you have to drive 1/2 mile dirt and gravel, to your house, it's only clean until you move it. Life is full of compromise's.
Hell last month, I had Elk Pâté jerky, an inch thick, behind both wheels, on the passenger side, from a several semi's trucks ahead of me. The dog's were going nuts every time I came home.

At least those of us in warm climates don't have to put up with the freezing weather and salt on the roads---and all over the truck.
Jay

True, my son came home from Texas Tech for the holidays, one day last week it was warm here so we washed/waxed his car, actually worked up a sweat LOL

I thought our kids were suppose to help us do our trucks/cars---not the other way around?????? Wish I could get mine to just have enough interest in their vehicles to keep them clean----they must have lost that gene-------LOL

Griots Garage has awesome Microfiber products that are thick & safe but as with anything quality - $$$. I like Griots products in general.

I use Wizards products. Their Mystic Spray Wax and 2 of their micro fiber towels and you're good for 4-6 months. It's easy and there's nothing better and all their products work!!

Most all spray waxes only protect for a few weeks, I'll have to read up on this Mystic Spray Wax. Coatings can last a couple of years, sealants last for about 6 months and waxes usually last for 3-4 weeks.

Found a new site (at least to me) called Detailed Image. Many different detailers are on the site showing off their work. Many very beneficial ideas and products. One thing I like about the site is the fact that they are not selling one product or another.

I have been impressed by the many photos taken before and after, The results of the work are outstanding.

GTechniq makes good coatings, if the detailer knows what he's doing you'll be happy with the results. Just know that it doesn't mean no more swirls or scratches, you still have to wash is properly and wouldn't hurt to do maintenance to the coating every 3 to 4 months like a coating topper.

I usually use Wolfgang Sealant.. Lasts me about 3-4 months in rainy Seattle... but I've used CQuartz DIY on a couple cars and it seems to be holding up nicely.

Recently found a "spray sealant" called Gyeon Wetcoat; been using that as a quick refresh coat during the winter; works pretty well for a spray on, rinse off.

It beads nicely:

Decent shine...
