I got a set of Spec D/K2 Motoring 2500 fender flares off eBay ($110 shipped) and they didn’t come with gaskets and/or 3M attachment tape.

The fitment on my 1500 is perfect except there’s just no means of attaching to the body except on the fender well using OEM holes.

What are you all using for the gaskets that go on the lip of the flares against the body?

I was able to get some 1/2” 3M body attachment double sided tape from O’Reilly which will work perfect for attachment but the lips of the flares may still cause damage to the body. I understand some of you have found some 3M clear bra type material that surrounds the fender wheel arch and that might work. I may also just paint/Plastidip surrounding the arch the entire width of the flare.

What are my best options or best practices?

I prefer the 3M Clear bra material.

Any thoughts on where to get some pre-cut for 1500 fender arches?

Those look to be oem replicas. They won’t have gaskets which’s is a good thing anyway because they end up scratching the paint. You will just have to put your own 3m double sided adhesive on them.

I think I’ll install the flares and then take a grease pencil to create an outline of the flare on the fender then Plastidipping everything inside the pencil outline on the fender/arches. Once that’s all cured and dry, use the 3M double sided tape on the flares and install them. This way, if I decide remove the flares they should come off easier as the 3M is on the Plastidip and not the clearcoat or 3M clear bra.

we put tape to trace the flares outer edge, then remove flare and put the protective tape

That’s the process I’m going with, except Plastidip in place of protective tape in order to better reverse the process if necessary.

So I know this is an older thread but I had this exact problem. My oem replica rebel flares had ribs on the back that tape won't stick to. I was gonna fill them with flowable silicon but it's tedious and still won't protect the lip like you said. I wanna run 1.5 spacers instead of getting new wheels, so flareless isn't an option with that offset and how much crap the tires will fling. Can't use edge trim either so curious how things are holding up.

My oem replicas had the ribs as well and i just used 1/4” 3m double sided tape on them. I used a lot of friction/heat to get them to stick and mold into thos ribs. They have been on my truck since September without any problems even in the -30 celsius weatherweve had up north

Color match looks so clean on a white truck...ughh I don't even wanna put my flares back on my white truck now.

Thanks I'll try stealing the gfs hair dryer and see if that gets the tape to stick, I had the flares on 2 weeks and I had the outline of the flare in the clear already
