I have a 2017 Laramie. I love that truck.

That being said, my engine ate itself at 8,500 miles when the oil pump died. They couldn't even turn the engine over by hand. Warrant took care of it. I'm now at about 13k miles.

I have an hour commute each way every morning. It gets way better fuel economy than my wife's SUV.

There are times when my wife and I get home from work, she goes into the house with the kid, and I just sit there in the truck for a while. It's that comfy.

Never heard of these. Didn't know they existed haha. That is crazy mileage if it's accurate.

My 2015 spun it's mains at 60k and FCA replaced it NC. The first long block shipped was called back. Found out it was a 2015. The new one was fresh off the boat.

Ive got a ‘14 with just over 100k. Engine replaced almost 5k miles ago due to Spun bearing. Big bumpers, 4x4, CC and 3.55’s. PPEI tune. Stock tires, and some lift. Mine averages right around 20 in town, and my best is 27.8 mpg.

Bought truck with damaged engine. Really enjoyed it! Got a new bedcover coming in, and lifting the nose a bit more [emoji41]

I bought my 2017 ED in Jan of 2018. I'm currently at around 8500 miles, no issues yet.

For the life of me, I do not see the MPG others a seeing, not even close. Highway driving at 70-73 mph, I may get 22mpg. I can get that mpg up to around 27 ONLY if I lock the cruise on 65 or just below that. With the highway limit at 70, it's not bright driving along at 64 just to get better MPG. Overall, my summer average is just around 19mpg and winter is probably 17, give or take. No, I do not have a lead foot, besides, it's kind of impossible to in that in that dog anyway.

My 2014 5.7L, 6spd trans 4x4 ext cab got around 12-13mpg...so I guess 19 is better, I guess.

Would I buy another? Hard telling, probably no. Stupid thing is beyond cold blooded and has left me sweating many times when it simply will not get up and go when I need to get into traffic. It is a far cry from performance compared to my '14 Hemi. I started using the block heater this year, and it helps some, but lets face it, it won't blow warm air until the oil temp is 160+ and it takes it a while to warm past that initial <122F mark on the display.

If the truck warmed up faster...I'd be happier, if it had more get up and go, I'd be happier. As-is? Not too pleased.

Something is off with your mileage. I wonder if something changed for the 17 model year that would affect the mileage. I’ve been averaging 19.5 for the last 3 tanks of fuel, hand calculated in my 2016. But I’m running 35” 10 ply tires and I’m leveled/lifted. And most of my driving is short trips. Maybe 100 highway miles per tank of fuel at most. I do have the GDE tune though, and that helps my MPGs a bit.

And very strange that you’re not happy with how it warms up. I’ve always been amazed at how quick the truck warms up when it’s cold out.

I think your problem has to do with how fast it's warming up. Even without using the block heater or winter front I've always see the oil temp go above 122°F within a mile. I don't idle the truck on start up much longer than to see the coolant temp rise a degree or two.

Bone stock, no mods at all.

My truck currently sits outside, on mornings where the windshield has frozen over, I need to defrost it for a short time...typically 10-15min. Example:

This morning it was 24F outside, truck wasn't plugged in (moving at the moment, can't do it). "warmed up" for just over 10 min, just enough to mostly thaw the windshield. Looked at temp, display was still <122F. Drove off, after about 10 min of driving, temp was in the 130's. 15 min of driving on hilly country roads, temp was in the mid 160's. By the time I got to work, temp was in the 190's. That was about 20-25 min of driving through some mixed, hilly roads.

My old commute (if you can call it that) was a short, 5mi, very hilly drive. Down a large hill, up and over another steep hill, reverse that coming home. That wasn't long enough to get the truck to the 150's on cold days.

That's all changing...we're moving about 30 min south so my drive will now be about 20 miles of driving. We'll see what my average MPG comes to. Another nice thing is that I'll have an actual garage to park my truck in (for the first time in my life).

Being retired my truck doesn't accumulate the miles it used to.
In the winter time run the front cover, it will help with the warmup,
it will also help with the mileage.

Some of the lack of heat build up could be slower driving up and down hilly roads. When the engine isn't under load without the winter front it really sucks the heat out of the engine. I can drive to Costco about 6 miles from my house going no more than 40 mph in stop/go roads and almost be at 200°.
If you don't have one, I believe this is the correct part# 82213959AC winter cover with flaps. Make sure it's the one with the flaps and you can probably keep the upper flaps closed most of the time, leave at least one lower flap open unless it's below 0°F Message Bernie @AllMoparParts.com a vendor on this forum for a price.

I have a 15 Ecodiesel - got it with 16k miles on it for a steal - At 25k miles I have only had to replace the DEF once, oil change, and tire rotation - just the basic truck maintenance - has been great in the snow - starts right up. A few modifications have been done as well but I could not be happier. For the price and the MPG's, it's well worth it.

You should get the Pedal Commander. My Eco launches like a HEMI truck with it
