I have a 2016 ram 1500 with 35k miles and the brakes squeak really bad. Dealer looked at them in October and said they were fine and just the material used was cheap.

Then last week had them look again during a recall work. Said they were bad and need to be replaced.

They wanted 550 for just the front rotors and pads. I have done brakes in the past and will do it myself.

I will be using my truck to tow a 6000 lb travel trailer occassionally as well.

What pads and rotors would you recommend?

And 3 mechanics told me before I bought, that unless I’m runnin the Baja 500, driftin, or racin a road course, then don’t waste you money on drilled and slotted ... Just no real world benifit as a daily driver, other than the fact that they look cool if you can see em thru your wheels with those red calipers ... To each his own tho ...

The WAGNER OEX Pads are supposed to be for heavier use. I love mine and they are quiet and I have not noticed any brake dust ! You Tube has some great Reviews on them ! I never use the Centric Pads but they have been mentioned here several times with good reviews as the R1 Rotors

As always when people ask on here I highly recommend EBC stage 3 slotted/dimpled rotors with green stuff pads.

I also have a 2016 ram 1500 Sport 4x4 and these have been the best brakes I have ever used. Stopping power is a huge increase over stock.

I have roughly 15,000km on the brakes now and and no issues, very minimal brake dust too

I installed these on my 15 2 years ago and with almost 50 years of driving this was the best money I've ever spent on brake parts.Truck never felt good with the original brakes and they didn't make it to 20 k or 2 years. These will stand it on it's nose and the rims stay clean as well.

BTW I've wrenched for a living for 30 plus years and these rotors lookes as good as any I've pulled out of the box over the years.Wifes BMW X5 had Zimmerman rotors installed just before I bought it and when they're done it will get the same as I put on the truck.

Our biggest seller due to its very good stopping power and value is the combo of R1 Concepts geomet rotors and the posi quiet pads. We offer very competitive pricing on this combo and it has been a proven performer of a combo.

Message if you would like a quote on them or anything else.

How is the brake dust with those? And how do they hold up against rust with the zinc coating

The dust is a lot better then oem for sure but you will always have dust. Zinc is a anti corrosive material so it helps but nothing that heats up and cools that is exposed to the element is rust proof. They still look good on my truck dont see any rust but I do not live in a area where the salt the roads. It does rain a lot here. Put them on last summer
