Pennzoil Ultra Prem. Amsoil makes a good filter also. I used Redline oil when I had my 6.4.

Jesus- I want your guys' prices. I just picked up 7qt PUP 0W-40, an oil filter and air filter to the tune of $170 with tax. Only place I can get that oil is the dealership. And I still have to do the oil change myself! When the dealer did it it was a $250 bill.

I just checked another local dealer and its $7.50 a quart. My other local dealer is $10 a quart. Crazy that they are all different. Guess depends on the volume they order and such.

I use a RAM dealer. I might be paying a little more than the DYI price but it is hassle free. I just sit in the customer lounge, use their fast wifi and drink the free coffee. Even your first ice cream out of the freezer is free. As to using the correct oil, the service writer has come out a couple times to “warn” me that they have to use the full synthetic (expensive) oil. Yes, tire rotation is free too.

My wife just got the first change done yesterday at our dealership. It was about $70 with tax. They rotate the tires for free every 10K with the change. The only bummer is I usually do my oil and tires every 5k, so the in between ones I will have to rotate the tires myself. I got in the habit after I got 60K out of BFG KM2's on our old jeeps. Everybody said they were only good for 30K.

I prepaid $226.40 for (4) oil changes and tire rotations from my dealer. Woks out to $56.60 a piece and I don't have to clean up. I usually schedule it for a Friday afternoon , drop by on m y way home and go look at the new trucks, Jeeps and Hellcats while I'm waiting. I'm usually in and out in an hour. Plus if there is ever a warranty question, only two dealers have ever touched my truck.

That's a good price Sandbox. I did the dealer oil change plan for my first 4. They were $73 each. Been changing mine myself lately. Anywhere from $43-$55 depending on what SN 0w-40 oil I can get on sale.

Thanks everyone for the continued info... great stuff!

BTW, when it comes to dealing with the dealer's oil changes, most have the "express lane" oil change which is great if you're first but can turn into a 3 hour ordeal if you get stuck behind a few others. The best method I've found is to just call them an hour or so before lunch or closing and ask if they can squeeze you in. This way you are in and out quickly. Of course, this only works if the dealership is close by your normal route. I have a dealer somewhat close and usually only have to call once or twice and I'll hit it right. It's usually done before I can walk the lot looking at new trucks and fend off the starving salesman.

I just did my 40k oil change. It was also time for new tires. Chrysler dealers are running a special on tires where you buy 3 and get the 4th for $1. It saved me $350 on 4 General Grabbers. The oil change was $72. I only do it at my dealership. So far it has been a pleasant experience. I’m happy to be rid of the factory Firestones. Now they can put them on a trailer house where they belong!

I’ve got a 2018 3500 4x4 with 6.4 Hemi. Love this truck!

I do believe there are times the techs doing the oil changes use the 5.7 oil which I believe is 5w30. A personal theory of mine is this can lead to more bleed down of the lifters between starts and ticking. Which ultimately could lead to increased wear on components. For the deal it sounds like you all are getting, it does make sense. But my advice is to be sure they are actually using the 0w40 oil. It would be a super easy mistake with the pace the shops operate at and the muscle memory of grabbing the 5.7 pump since there are so many more of those engines.

So my local chevy dealer has a special with coupon - 6 quart oil change package - ac delco dexos1 full synthetic oil change, tire rotation and multi-point vehicle inspection $29.99 *tire balancing, tax, and more than 6 courts of oil extra. Excludes diesel engines. See dealer for details. offer ends 12/31/19* I have an 8am appointment tomorrow. FYI Same owner has the Dodge dealer and Chevy dealer. Coupon from Dodge was $69.99 and that was just for the oil change. HMMMM Don't know that i understand. Any comments ???

I let my dealer do it for 89.99, not worth my time to save $5 or $10

I bought my mobil 1 5w20 synthetic oil at Sam's club, 4.80 per quart and a stp. oil filter, 4.99, so my total cost was around 40 bucks. The new 2019 ram long horn, seems to really like the new oil.

So went to the dealer to get my oil. The one that quoted me $8.10 a quart. He gave me a discount which put it at $7.25 a quart.

Wow! Did you get 40K out of the stock crapper Firestone's??? If so, that's the best I've heard of and there has been a lot of discussion about it. Mine were at the tread bars @ 29K.

I got 38,000 on mine. I could have easily gone longer but it was late fall & I wanted to be ready for the winter. And I am glad I did.
