If it's anything like the trackhawk the TRX will be up there close to 6 figures (and I'm sure many will be marked up in the 6 figures). I'm hoping the TR is a little more affordable, sounds like exactly what I've been hoping they would make (although I thought they would just make an SRT version).

I'm not all that excited about the Hellcat Ram. Never had an interest in the Raptor or SRT 10. I had my one and only "performance" truck. A 1999 Lightning. At the time it was fast compared to vehicles being sold then. It was faster than the Corvette I owned at the time. Now there'll be plenty of faster vehicles than the Hellcat Ram. Nothing worse than spending probably really close to a hundred grand and then get spanked by a lot of vehicles.

Agreed, I like the sounds of the mid level HP bump but don't need a rebel setup. The 4wd would be appreciated up here but I wouldn't mind it just in a regular sport looking setup.

I wouldn’t mind the Rebel set up. I’m hoping the 5th gen TR model is similar in price to a maxed out Limited like I’m driving today. I would consider leasing one when my current lease is up in April 2021 if I can keep my payment in the same ballpark.

Yeah I wouldn't mind it either, and if it was reasonably priced like you said, I'd still try to go for it if I could. However, seems like it would be more affordable on a non rebel platform and I get the want for a sport/street truck since there really isn't many options there at all.

From what I heard the TR will be the off-road version with a 7.0 hemi. The TRX will be a more street focused version with the hellcat engine.

Either way the TRX will likely be priced close the trackhawk, making it out of reach for most people. We have had 3 trackhawks sitting on our lot for quite awhile now.

The TR sounds like a good compromise. I don’t need 700, and I definitely won’t be able to afford it

Nobody “needs” 700hp lol, however we all would take it if it was offered.

It’s the price that will keep most people away. Trackhawks here are anywhere from 100-120k, that’s Canadian pesos. As a contrast, you can get a regular SRT 8 Grand Cherokee in the 70-80k range. The price leap from SRT to Trackhawk is just rediculous. You could buy a SRT, throw a blower on it, make the same power, and still have 30k+ left over. That’s enough to build up a new motor/trans if you blow something up.

I get a lot goes into getting a 700hp WK from the factory with a warranty, but still it’s just to much of a increase from one to the other. I imagine the Rebel TRX is going to be the same thing.

There's a lot more that goes into the Trackhawk than just a blower. A stronger transmission, transfer case, axles, suspension changes, a completely different motor built to reliability handle the power. All of the things nobody thinks about when planning for a high horsepower build. From what I've read, the 6.4 doesn't do well with anything over 5-6 psi. I see people over at the SRT Cherokee forum recommend just getting a Trackhawk over building a WK2 to that power.

Either they started with a 3/4 ton or they found the 9.25 doesn’t handle the power, that’s an 8 lug full floater out back.

I love Ram but someone needs to bring that 700hp price point down. Have y'all seen this? 39K...

So Ford will drop the new 700+hp upcoming GT500 engine into a Raptor to compete with the TRX, so there will be 2 $100+ grand choices. Meanwhile Chevy/GM has..... still the potent but not even same ballpark 6.2. I think the performance and excitement is at the Ram and Ford brands these days. Chevy is concentrated on their mid engine Corvette coming, which if true with engine options being 500-1000 hp choices, is absolutely wild in the sports car world.
Still, it proves competition pushes each brand to step up.

Yeah I saw that and that they offer the mustang in the same package/price, although not directly from ford. I believe its through a dealer in Ohio with a Roush department, but either way yeah you cant beat that power for the price/warranty.
