Hello guys, I just recently got a 2017 Ram 1500 4x4 with a 5.7 liter Hemi(tradesman) Quad Cab. This will be my first lifted truck I have always had lowered and bagged trucks so I am very new to four-wheel drive and lifted suspension I have decided I want to do a 6 inch lift kit and 22in rims with 35 or 37 inch tires I originally was going to get a Rough Country lift but the more and more I looked into it and read reviews & forums I quickly decided on a zone or superlift 6 inch lift kit, I think I have made up my mind on the 6in Zone lift kit but now I cannot make up my mind on a 3 or a 5 inch rear coil honestly I would like my truck to sit level or even nose high so I was thinking of doing the 3in rear coil but I want the full 6in of lift so if I do the 5in coil in the rear, could I use the Bilstein or Eibach adjustable struts to get me level or nose High? I was also looking into possibly getting some Fox coilovers I had found some without the external Reservoir that were around 4 or 5 hundred. But coilovers would basically be the same thing as struts correct? I was told that if I had a 6 inch lift kit on my truck I would have to use the bills set at stock ride height because if I adjust them up I will over extend my UCAs and i would not be able to align my truck is this correct?? If so could I fix this problem by replacing the upper control arms and if I can does anybody know of any upper control arms that would fix this problem would the Zone UCAs wprk? I swear I read so many people saying that that's how they were leveling their trucks with the 6 zone kit but I may be wrong.. so if that is the case and I am not able to use struts or even coilovers to level or lift the front past what the kit lifts it could I cut a coil or a half of a coil off of the 5in rear coils or should I try to find a 4-inch coil or just go with the 3-inch coil and possibly add a spacer?? If anybody has pictures of their trucks with the Zone lift kit on it and the 6 or 3 inch rear coil I would really appreciate it and if anybody has any knowledge on this subject or could answer any of my above stated questions I would very much appreciate it I would really like to order my lift but I'm not sure what to order.. thanks again to everyone and sorry in advance if I did anything wrong or came across completely ignorant once again I am very new to lifted trucks 4 wheel drive this forum basically all of this..

Quick_Shifter did u have to replace the UCAs to be able to run the eibach pro lift with the zone lift kit?? Also did u leave off the preload spacer as well?? Thank you!!

Bigred74 did u have to leave off the preload spacer?? I was told by one person that if i didnt put the preload spacer on the front end would be really low even with bils set all the way up... but I have read on here a lot of people saying to leave the preload spacer off

I did the Zone UCA’s when I did the the lift just as precaution. You do not use the preload spacers with any adjustable struts. They are designed to get the height with oem struts.

I have the 6” BDS lift with 5” rear coils and Bilstein 6112 set to 2.6” front lift and Zone UCA. I added the UCA to bevon the safe side and just do everything at once. If you add Bilsteins or eibachs you discard the preload spacer. Since you mentioned Superlift, If you look at their 6” installation instructions you’ll see they have 2 options, one uses a preload spacer, the other uses Bilsteins w/o the preload, not both. The preload spacer is merely used so you don’t have a huge strut top spacer. Zone uses a 5” top spacer so without the preload just add your Bilstein or eibach height to that number to calculate your front lift height.
Here’s a few pics of my kit and suspension

Thanks everyone for all the input you all have been very very helpfull..
Quick_shifter thanks again bro, your thread on ur lift helped me so much and pretty much answered all my questions.. But one last question so do I need to get different rear end links or is that only if I lift the rear end past the 5in? Im def getting the zone 6 with the 5 rear coil and im probably going to run the full eibach (coil and strut) kit so thank you so much for leading the way!!!

What gear ratio does your truck have?

The rear end links will come in your lift kit. I extended mine because I added 1.5” spacer on top of my 5” springs. The rear Sway bar is designed to be parallel nothing you need to be concerned about yet

JB1 whatever gears come stock in it i have the 5.7 hemi.

Quick_shifter if I just get the eibach adjustable struts and use my stock coils will I still be able to get the 3 in of lift or do I need to get the eibach coils with the struts as well? And would you happen to know a part number for the strut and coil assembly I can find it as a kit with the front rear or fine just the adjustable struts themselves but I cannot find the struts and coils together without rear end lift.. Thanks again guys

Eibach only sells the front and rear full kit as a kit. You need
part # E60-27-001-04-10 for the front struts. If you use your oem coils the max height is 3” but they carefully word that as “average height”
The coils part # E30-27-001-02-20 the only options with the coils is 2.75 and 3.5

It would be in your best interest to do the UCA’s now. Order the zone arms when you order your lift kit. They may cut you a deal. Better yet send Nick from got exhaust on this forum a PM (on this forum it’s called “start a conversation”) you can find him in the preferred vendor section he’ll take care of you and has good prices

I’ve been trying to get in touch with Nick too. I’ve sent two messages. No reply yet. I’m new as well.... wondering if I’d done it correctly. Lol. So don’t feel bad. If I hear from him, I’ll pass it along. :)
