So I installed an edge pulsar 5 k miles ago and the first 4k it worked wonderfully and the truck ran great. However the last 1000 miles, something weird started happening.

Seemingly every 100 to 500 miles, Sometimes less (50 ?) Numerous warning lights on the dash go off, the truck becomes sluggish but still drivable. Once i turn it off and back on the warning lights (forward collision, throttle sensorr, stability cobtrol, cross path light and front and back sensors) all turn back off and performance is restored. The check engine light remains on for 20 to 30 miles and then eventually turns off as well.

I called pulsar and they said maybe it wasnt seated onto the pcm firmly so I disconnected and reconnected everything and made extra care connected firmly. The issue reappeared 50 miles and a day later.

So now I have completely disconnected the pulsar. I'm going to call them tomorrow to either send them the unit for a new one or ask for a refund ( or wait and see if the truck repeats the issue without the pulsar)

Has anyone else experienced similar or recommend another course of action ?

I ordered my pulsar for my 2018 ram 2500, hemi 6.4 literEnd it seemed to work fine except when I shut my truck off. The dash lights would go off and they would come back on Repetitively until I would unplug the pulsar or disconnect the battery. Tech-support said they had one other issue with this and engineering is supposedly fixing the problem, maybe this will fix your problem as well as mine, if not this pulsar will be going back.

Called edge today. They think something failed in the unit and are sending a replacement.

Like I said a good starting platform. I had 2 before I asked for a refund. The platform still needs work IMHO. Waiting on a tuner

Edge products called me yesterday and they have an update for my Pulsar so they are going to be updating the Pulsar that I sent back and then I will try it one more time before I asked for a refund.

Ya I called edge again and cancelled the replacement. I asked for a refund which they said wouldn't be an issue. I'm going to wait until more issues are resolved until I put one of these back on.

That's what I'm doing they have a good start but it needs some tweaking to get it right.

After thinking over the situation I have decided to send my Edge Pulsar back for a refund. I will wait, as a couple of others have mentioned, for them to get the bugs ironed out especially with Pulsar for the Ram 2500 since it only being on the market a couple of months. I do want to give a shout out and command Edge Products for excellent customer service. They have gone beyond, what I would call, normal customer service to try to please me and make things right!!!

Due to a mixup on the return they set my pulsar back with the updated software and it did fix the issue with the dash lights that I had, so I decided to run the Pulsar for a week here is what I found:
I thought I would give an update on the Edge Pulsar that I installed in my ram 2500 6.4 hemi. I mainly bought it for the economy mode, after a week of running around town it looks like it increased my gas mileage only about a 1/2 mile per gallon and on the highway driving that I did I did not see any marginal increase. I will say while, while driving, I did switch to performance mode and and what a difference it made in the truck. You could feel it kick in and the truck would take off. But since I mainly bought it for the economy mode to hopefully increase my gas mileage I did send it back because I did not think it was worth the money for a 1/2 a mile per gallon increase but if I drove it for performance I would’ve definitely kept the Edge Pulsar.

I had the same issues. I went through four units before calling it quits. The last time it started to accelerate on its own. No good. 7B871AD0-D584-47E6-AF77-458B555F43B0.png

What codes did the PCM throw? Did anyone get a scanner on it before resetting/restarting as to why it went into limp mode?

Hey Tim,

Mine throws P2127 -- Throttle Position Sensor E Circuit Low Input.
I replaced the TPS (Which is the gas pedal on my 2015 Ram 1500 5.7)

Even after replacing the TPS -- I still get a check engine light - it usually only happens when I go into performance mode.

I am going to order the update cable to see if that helps.

Do a TPS/Throttle Body recalibration in that performance mode and see if the problem still persists.
The issue with the TCM/PCM being so adaptive to driving style and then adding a quick change on TPS input with the pulsar probably throws a trigger flag in the logic.
