what are people’s thoughts on Chrysler not honoring factory warranty on vehicles first sold in Canada??!! Seems a little shady to me! I was not happy to find this out about my 16 ram 1500 EcoDiesel.

It is well known about warranty and Canadian trucks. Makes no sense to me.
Good luck with getting that fixed. Sure seems silly that they'd make such a stink. It's not like you bought it in Europe.
On a bright note, I believe if you ever run out of gas, you can dump a couple can's of LaBatt's or Molson's into the tank and it'll get you to the fuel station....The only real issue I have with CA vehicles is when you make a wrong turn the GPS Nav will berate you like a Canadian.. "I said turn left you Hoser. Take off eh".
** NOTE ** Apologies if I offended any Canadians. The entirety of my knowledge of your great country comes from Bob and Doug MacKenzie.
I pretty sure there’s a bunch of country-based laws and various other legal hoops between the countries that prevent Canadian trucks from being warrantied in US. I read something that explained it a while back but don’t remember where it was. Possibly on this site.
I think there could be another reason for not honoring the warranty cross border and it has more to do with maximizing revenue. For example a Ram 1500 Tradesman is offered for 34095 on the Canada website and $31795 on the US website. In US dollars the Canada truck sells for $25571. The Canada truck would need to sell for $42393 (Canadian) to be equal price to the US model. So what FCA is trying to do is discourage dealers from buying the less expensive Canadian trucks (in US dollars) and importing them to the US. FCA would get less revenue per truck if this became widespread. I used to work for a major computer manufacturer that had similar policies, except usually overseas dealers wanted to buy US computers since they were half the price in the US compared to their local market.
