Since it seems that none of the social media posts and case numbers opened have helped, I say all of us replace our UConnect systems with aftermarket radios, make the big stock radios into little radio pieces, fill a dump truck with the little pieces, and dump them all on UConnect's front step early one Monday morning so no one can get in the building...then open a class action lawsuit to make them pay for our aftermarket stereos.

Sort of like how some guys on a ship in Boston Harbor did it a long time ago.

But that's my rage talking. I can still dream. I'll wake up now and continue muttering to myself about my crappy radio.

I've actually thought about this. One of the reasons I purchased though was for the nice display and the features. How many features would we lose access to if replacing it with an aftermarket? Has anyone done this?

Both times I had my Ram at the dealership so they could "attempt " to fix my stereo they gave me a 19 Ram as a loaner. I have to say the stereo sounded amazing so, I don't think this has affected them.

I can't compare my new 2019 to anyone else's truck, as I have no experience with them, but I do have experience with vehicle stereos in general and this one in the new Ram 1500 Classic really sounds nice. "Nice" is subjective of course, but I certainly can't complain about it. I find the interface pretty intuitive as well.

I thought my 6 speaker 8.4 system was "not bad" for a stock stereo set up. Then I added aftermarket dash speakers with the 4 ohm resistor mod, aftermarket 6X9 coaxial speakers in the front doors, and a powered subwoofer behind the back seat. After those changes I thought it sounded "very good". Ten days later I got the OTA Uconnect software update and now it sounds "sh*tty".

Whenever we get a fix (at this rate...who knows when), I promise that you will really appreciate the sound of your stereo.

We are now pushing the 7 month mark since the day they nuked our radios .

I got a new software update for my '15 last week. It is version 17.43.01 Did you guys who are having the problem get an update, and did it resolve it? I ask because my brother has a 2018 with CarPlay, he never had this issue, but I want to be able to let him know what to do if he gets it.

I noticed because the normally yellowish/goldish accents changed to blue. There is a nice "U" in the background, and the screen seems MUCH sharper/cleaner the before.

On the Uconnect site it says the software was released 3/21/19. I got it OTA on the 22nd, a day later. I'm in NY, Long Island to be exact.

2018+ uses a different radio, which is why us 2017 and earlier guys will never have this issue and will rarely get more updates.

Yeah, what I am saying is we (<2018) just got a new update within the last week... Was wondering if those 2018+ got an update too? and if they did, did it resolved it?

17.43.01 is actually old, March of last year it looks like. TSBs for Jeep products indicate it is meant only for 2015 vehicles (RAM 1500/2500/3500 is listed there too) but the UConnect site indicates my '17 can use it too. I have never gotten an OTA notice about it, though. Maybe its just taken this long to get to me (like it finally got to you).

Not exactly thrilled with the "quality" of the OTA that is the subject of this thread, I will attempt to stop any OTA from coming to my truck but Im not sure if it will actually listen to me when I tell it to install at a later date.

Ah. Didn't notice the 2018 date, figured since all of a sudden the screen changed it was new. Maybe they did an update to the same software? Because I know I did the latest software manually after 3/21/2018.

Checking the UConnect site it showed me the version was released on March 26, 2018. I suppose its possible the OTA is still rolling out to all affected vehicles.

I see the same release date of 3/26/2018, it was my mistake, I thought it was 2019, I didn't even pay attention as I was reading it.

I know for a fact I already had the version shown on the uconnect site, as I have the software on my USB flash drive from when I did the update last year. Maybe they did a change and haven't updated it on the uconnect site yet?

When you use your 8.4, are the accent colors gold or blue?

Seven Months!

Made my call again to Ram Customer Care to check on the progress of my case. When is UConnect going to send out the update to fix my stereo? Not surprising, I got a different answer this time.

Barbara: "We don't send out the OTA updates, some other department here at FCA does that."

Me: "OK, so who DOES send out the updates?

Barbara: "I don't know."

Me: "You don't know? Well, find out who is responsible for this and find out when they're going to send it out and fix my stereo."

<put on hold for 2 minutes>

Barbara: "AT&T is responsible for sending out the UConnect OTA updates and this one is set for the first week of the third quarter."

Me: (loudly) "JULY!! JULY!! You've got to be kidding me! Sorry to yell at you Barbara, but this is unacceptable."

I ripped Ram and Uconnect for a while and then said I'd call back in a month and hung up.

Hell I dont care if its ota. Make the file downloadable so we can do it ourselves or send it to the dealers. Hell at this point I would pay good money to have my radio back

Here in Missouri there are two requirements for Lemon Law:

1) Model Year 2015 or newer and
2) Been to shop for same reason three or more times with no resolution or in dealership for two weeks.

I think I'm going to do this.

Interesting...

Here in Minnesota it is:
1) model year 2015 or newer
2) in the shop for same reason four times with no resolution or in dealership for four weeks, no resolution
3) vehicle is used for personal use at least 40% of the time

I would fail on #3.
