I recently saw a post over on one of the car forums about this after market E85 sensor/injector interceptor for the SRT motors, but I haven't seen anything for 5.7's. Something with a fuel sensor like what you can do to a Coyote or apparently after market like this is the only way I'd consider it. Accessing E85 means driving into the city where one can actually find the corn gas for me and IMO has limited uses except for fun days. Most guys I've seen running E85 on 5.0's don't see a whole lot of gain unless they're fully built or have boost to take advantage of the extra octane.

Edit : Was totally wrong on the 5.0's its GM that uses the fuel content sensor. The 5.0 is using the O2's to detect the alcohol content like some of the flex fuel hellcat tunes (Got bored and did some more research). I guess if there's a way to swap to hellcat wide-band O2's, get them readable by the PCM, and find a tuner that has the experience to build the alcohol content detection into the tune you could have a flex tune.

According to FCA its OK to run E15 in 2016 and newer HEMI's. Anything more than E10 is not recommended for earlier models and anything above E15 is not recommended for any HEMI of any year. Personally I wish E0 cost the same as E10 and I would never buy any fuel with ethanol in it ever again. I agree you will make(considerably) more power but it ain't worth the **** gas mileage to me.

Just to chime in, got a MY 19, and it is Not made/tuned to run E85 cornstalk junk. About 8 years ago, when I worked for US Army, they were making us run dat E85 chit in flex vehicles, to save on "resources". IMHO didn't do chit except cut MPG in half. We had Impala's with V6's and those suckers went from high 20's, low 30 to 16 MPG. So pay $.30 less, but get 1/2 mileage, no TY.

All IMHO.....

Yea E85 gets **** economy in everything I've seen it ran in and I would be burning off the tank as fast as possible. As a replacement for good ol gasoline they can **** with that crap. In my eyes it's only value is cheap high octane race fuel for having fun in toys.

Oh, I would never run E85 in anything I drive more than 100 miles a week lol. Abysmal MPG. My car gets about 8mpg lol

But gains me 70 horsepower to the wheel. So I deal with it!!!

4.7's did have a flex fuel version. The yellow gas caps were a clear indication if it was capable.

I think all the later 4.7's were flex fuel compatiable,i know for sure his 13 would of been compatiable.

There is a confusion about E85 and e15
E-85 is a mixture of approximately 85%fuel ethanol and 15% unleaded gasoline.
E-15 is a mixture of approximately 15%fuel ethanol and 85% unleaded gasoline.

My 2017 Ram manual says 89 Octane Recommended---87 Octane Acceptable--- 0-15% ethanol

You should not use E85 on your car unless it is flex fuel. E15 on the other hand is perfectly acceptable.

THE NUMBERS ON THIS E FUELS IS THE AMOUNT OF ETHANOL IN THEM.

E10-E15-E85
