Just a weird thought. Do PCMs detect and adjust timing between winter and summer gas?

Gives them an excuse to raise the price more often IMHO

They do raise the price but you also get more gas mileage. I wonder if the two are equal rates.. As in does the price increase match the fuel economy rate increase.

It usually just spikes during the change over as the say there's a shortage during refinery maintenance. Gas is usually lower in the winter when demand gets lower and higher in the summer due to higher demand. Diesel is the opposite generally. Lower in summer and higher in winter.

Does anybody who does tuning know if tunes take winter or summer gas into consideration?

Winter blend is designed for lower vapor pressure, but not octane rating. While it typically has slightly less energy content it's not as drastic as say adding a bunch of ethanol to the blend. The adaptive fuel trim in any decent tune would take care of this since most winter blend is achieved by adding cheap N-Butane which has a lower vapor vapor pressure, but an AKI of 92 (octane rating as read at a pump in the US). Timing shouldn't change much other than the fact you might can run more advance when IAT's are lower which should also be a part of any decent tune.

Thanks. I was wondering if that was handled in any particular way.

I have Flashpak tuner and intake and exhaust. Computer with tune should adjust peramaters to compensate for gas. When I ran 93 non ethanol in the mid west truck ran better and went from 21 to 24.5 mpg. Runs the same with winter blend gas just lower gas milage.
