Purchased new 2018 1500 4x4 EcoDiesel

The manual that comes with it is not the complete near 700 page one that is online. When I bought my 2015 and 2017 I got the abbreviated manual along with a DVD, but was told that I had to contact FCA to request the "encyclopedia" version.

If the dealer will lie about something as simple as the manual, I'd be worried about any other promises they may have made to you. I have 2016 EcoDiesel and I love it. Glad to see people can still find them. Our local dealer has 0 units on the lot.

I have a 2016 and there were manuals in the vehicle. The operators manual I have includes all the information needed for the Ecodiesel. I would go back to the dealer and request the manual. You should not be expected to download a manual as a PDF or any other file. After all, not everyone has a computer. Pretty hard to access information if you're on the road someplace and need it. You might look inside other new vehicles on the lot to see if they have paper manuals.

I would download the online/digital manuals as well. They are searchable with adobe acrobat. Makes finding things way faster. ctrl F to search

Dual exhausts on Eco? mine doesn't have them. I'm so jealous. I did receive full paperwork with my 2017 Eco.

I bought mine 2yrs old-came with full manual and warranty book and service log from previous owner- this guy is bs-ing you or like others said, he gave them away. Either way I would go back and request one for your truck even if he has to order you one. Be nice and ask him how he would feel if he did not get one after paying so much for a new truck when others get them with a used truck

Bought one same color 2018 eco Laramie. Started using oil with less than 6000 miles. Dealer finally bought it back and now I have 2019 silver Laramie hemi 5.7 sport. Got manuals with both trucks so I think your dealer is feeding you a line of BS

Thanks guys. The dealer is getting me a full manual and the diesel supplement. Just sucks that I had to give them such a big push.

I have nerf bars and a few other details coming, I will post pics. once I put them on.

So far I have only driven around town. lots of stop and go. It is getting 19.8 MPG. My GMC Envoy with the 4.2l 6cyl (which this replaced) would only get 12 MPG with the same driving so I am really happy with the savings.
Can't wait to try it on a highway run.

IMHO, the highway and towing is where the ED shines. NOW, this ain't no Chevy, and with that lil pesky 3.0 Turbo, U HAVE to keep the MX up. DO not go 10K with that first (break in) oil on that new engine, change, for first change, with new filter and run the T6 Rotella after just a few grand. And IMHO< I would not after that go the full 10K, replace say at 8K. And look on the other forum into GDE, but U have to research that as that is a personal choice. ALL ABOVE IMHO.....

I didn't know about the little compartments under the rear floor mats until a couple of weeks when I bought my new floor mats, I found the owners manual in one of the compartments. 2018 model.

When I go on site at NASA I am subject to search. It's happened twice since I got my Ram. The amount of areas the security guards (they are essentially armed federal police) miss is astonishing. This truck has so many places to store things it's awesome.

Nice truck. You say your truck is a 2018? It was my understanding that they did not make the eco-diesel in 2018 because they were still going through all the federal crap with the emissions statements being inaccurate. When I inquired about one a few months back ( the fall) I was told that they would not be releasing the eco-diesel again until mid to late 2019.

I bought a 2018 EcoDiesel at the end of last year.

The EcoDiesel was paused after the '16 model year, but both '17 and '18 model years were built. I seen the factory outlot filled with '18s.
No '19 "Classic" editions have been built that I know of. The next EcoDiesel that supposed to be offered is the 2020 Ram 1500 and Jeep Gladiator trucks. Modifications to the engine for upgraded power and efficiency have been put out there but the full list of changes haven't been confirmed.
