that looks nice.. how long do they last, do they just stay on as soon as it becomes dark?

No they are remote controlled with three modes including strobe

I didn't see it mentioned so how long do they stay lit if I don't turn them off . Kind of like if I drove all night would they stay lit that many hours ?
