I see that the rear wheel well liners are optional and I have read a few threads on this site. I see some have ordered them through the dealer or a somewhere else. If I'm ordering a new Laramie, should I just add them to the build for $195 or just do it myself? Any difference in quality of materials between Ram and aftermarket? Thanks.

I'm probably misunderstanding something here, but all Rams I'm aware of with rear coil springs come standard with rear wheel well liners.

Sad as it is I think it actually is an option, at least I'm pretty sure it was on 4th gens, maybe they are standard now on the 5th? I'm not sure exactly what they go for separately but I'd assume it would be easier just to have them on from the factory. I've only had the factory ones on my rams so not sure if there's any difference between oem and aftermarket, never had any problems with them though.

I didn't believe it at first either. It definitely shows as an option when "Building" a Ram. Next thing you know, you'll have to pay extra for tires or something.

I've got a pretty basic 2017 Ram 1500 express and my brother has a new 2019 Ram 1500 Classic express and I see nowhere on the options / stickers for these trucks were rear wheel well liners are options. Like I say, I've never seen a rear coil spring equipped Ram pickup not have liners in the rear wheel wells.

Sadly with some of the all season tires that come on trucks, depending on your usage or where you live, you pretty much have to change those out right away too.

I just recall seeing people on here with 4th gens that didn't have them from the factory and needed to be added after the fact, but I could be not remembering that correctly.

Definitely an option on the new body style 2019. I have no idea if the 2018 classic has them as standard equipment.

I asked my salesman to include them in the build. Not that much money but seems odd that the liners aren't standard equipment.

They don't come on Ford or GM trucks as anything but an option either as far as I know unless you really want to call that indoor/outdoor carpet that GM put in their wheel wells as an actual liner. I think its pretty amazing that RAM included them as standard equipment for as long as they did.

I just ordered mine, luckily they're pretty cheap (~118 including tax/shipping for both from rockauto), and they look to go in pretty easily

Maybe I'm confused on what this liner actually is. I assumed it is the wheel well liners that have been on trucks for a hundred years. Guess I'll have to check it out next time I go to a dealer. Thanks for the info.

I think that my 13 didn't come with them so I took the one's off the 10 I was trading in and put them on the new 13. They fit with no problem and the holes were already pre-drilled to install them. I figured the "bean counters" struck again.

Glenn-just look behind the wheel--if you can see any of your suspension parts in the front or any of the sheet metal in the rear, you probably don't have them. If you see a black looking plastic tub looking part, then that is the liner.

Thanks. I checked my 2016 4Runner and they appear to have the liners, although it is not a pickup truck. I also checked my 1995 F150. Appears to have a partial liner that covers the wheel well above the tire but you can still see the shocks, leaf springs and frame. Guess it's not as big of an issue as I thought.

Ram may have just cheaped out and put them on some models and not on others. I don't think they are very expensive if you order them from the parts dept at the dealership. If it was me, I'd do it because they offer a lot of protection IMHO.

I’ve seen a 2019 1500 Bighorn that doesn’t have them.

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but man, do they ever come up with some great ideas.
