Finished the first half of my rear diff service. Easily been over 100k miles since the oil smelled God awful. Lots of metallic particles but no pieces of metal. Going to run clean fluid through it to/from work tomorrow and drain/refill it Sunday. Amazing how the LSD works when it has good fluid!

Quick question for the masses.
This just started happening, but when I turn the air on, doesn’t matter if it’s hot or cold, I hear something rumbling in the dash. The only way I could describe it is like a fidget spinner is spinning inside the dash. Or like a flap isn’t closing properly. Anyone have any idea what that could be? And how much of the dash am I going to have to take out to find/solve this? Thanks

Drop the blower motor, 3 screws in the passenger wheel well. Look up inside, if you see something blocking your view, take it out. The recirculation blend door might be broken. That's what happened to my old 06

Expanding the family once again, time for something with more room. Found a nice 07 mega cab with 117k miles on it. The jump seat up front will allow all 6 of my family to fit lol. No guarantees, but I might be coming back to the third gen section!

My 17 Rebel has a console, but right now all three kids, the wife and me can fit. New baby throws a wrench into seating lol. We all like going places in the truck, so I might have to change it up.

You sir, are a saint! I was starting to think I’d just live with it or have to take the dash off and replace blend doors! A couple stupid pieces of paper fell in the blower motor. I owe you a million virtual bucks. I was really getting sick of that vibrating! 5 min fix once I found an 8mm socket. Also, looks like my blend doors are still functioning perfectly. Went through every stage of airflow

This weekend was productive. Flushed the diff again and what came out... Wasn't too bad. Fresh fluid again with the traction additive. Now I just hear the transmission whine 45+ mph. Yeah, trans service is next week.

I also drilled out the lock on the ball hitch pin. Had to because the PO did not give me a key. Now I can put on the Reese tortion/friction hitch when it's time to tow.

Excuse the dirty truck
Thats dirty? Lol thats 10 times cleaner than my truck has even been, even after putting in 30 quarters at the car wash

Something about this wind and pollen just makes car washing useless around here. It'll last for a couple of hours then its all covered up in the stuff. At one point it got so bad the paint had a yellowish tint from all the pollen that had accumulated within day

Rebuilt pass front caliper and replaced the hub bearing (locked up so bad the heat fragged it). Rebuilding the caliper was easy, getting that hub out though...ultimately had to remove the spindle from the suspension and sledgehammer that ****** out.

Another side project completed. I was intermittently losing sound on the right side - front and back. I took the passenger door panel off and tested the speaker, worked fine. Checked the connections and like the "quality wiring" the PO did on the amplifier, poor crimp connections.

Cut them, re-crimped them, and put heat shrink insulation on them. I still need to do the driver's side but I see a 4-channel amp in the future and can rewire the speakers then.

Just finished installing 8 new spark plugs on the driver's side. Whoever thought putting the brake booster right on top of the back 4... should be beaten with a kerosene soaked hose! Jeeze! 2 hours alone just doing those 4.
