Going back to the Tcw3 discussion, what oils would anyone here suggest. It seems difficult to find full synthetic TCW3s anymore with the decrease in 2 stroke motors sold.

Anyone thing the Super Tech stuff would be safe to use or should I maybe try the Pennzoil XLF for a few $ more?

I

I buy pennzoil TCW3. After seeing pennzoil tested with others it had excellent cleanliness compared to most

So i just stick with pennzoil

Which ever is cheaper at the time.

Has anybody tried this Rotella Gas Truck series? I apologize If this has already been discussed.View attachment 164204

I don’t think we have seen a VOA of it yet but I expect it to be nothing special. If you are interested in the oil us guys would be thankful if you Do a VOA and post it up. most likely geared towards DI friendly formulation.

I’m walking through Walmart and wasn’t sure I’d seen it before. Figured I’d ask.

Well I have ran mobile 1 from day 1 and now have 140000 miles and get a whole new top end on the dealer! Ticking started last week and only got worse. I have the life time warranty so I took it in Tuesdays. They call me today and give me the good news. Its covered and only a $100 deductible. Like we should even have to pay a penny for their fock up! This is really making me want to buy a new ford 7.3 when it comes out. And I hate fords.

very decent in this voa, but for a new oil I would consider doing a uoa, I love the moly and operating visc, not so much of a long run oil, but good for hemi imo. More research should be done. I'd likely keep this around 5k mile oil changes, note tbn.

Yeah, when I found out about it I wasn’t happy. So now comes the fun part. I return to the dealer with my truck, steering isn’t straight and I make them ******* fix it. So they are going to have to grind off the welds, adjust my steering and then re-weld? Why not just make sure the **** is torqued right!

Not actually going to do that probably . To much hassle.

Couldn’t they just simply double jam nut it....?

We do that at work all the time...**** will never come apart

One word, liability. If the tech that torques it "correctly" doesn't do it perfectly, FCA is liable. If they weld it there's 0 chance it's going to come loose again. Liability.

Yup if I had a HD truck I would loosen those bad boys up in the parking lot before it goes in...

That TBN is kinda disappointing but looking at the formulation.... is see why

That could get somebody in trouble real quick if they go by there oil life monitor

The recall procedure has been revised something like three(?)times. I have read the whole thing. Loosening the jam nuts will do you no good. They will do a "test torque" it has to pass. There is also a procedure to verify the depth of thread engagement of the collar. If it passes they torque it and weld it. It's a ****** deal, for sure. I torqued mine, and put witness marks to be able to do a quick visual check to see if they come loose.
