Hi all, new here. My 08 with 5.7 Hemi decided it won't start. 130,455 miles. Just changed oil. Sat for two days, then when trying to start, it just keeps cranking and not starting until I turn the key off. Changed throttle body, crankshaft sensor, IAT sensor, ignition switch module and nothing helped. I sprayed starting fluid in the intake and she'll fire up for a sec just on the fluid. So, I know I've got spark and air, just no fuel. So, I suspect bad fuel pump. Anyone got a way to check the fuel pump without taking the tank out?

Thanks, Alan

It was fuel pump for me. Better be prepared for the lockring tabs on gas tank to break when taking lock ring off(making the tank unusable unless you put bolts and washers through it) used salvage tanks are usually just as bad. A new tank is 900$
So oil the lockring and tabs super good with 3 in 1 oil(NOT WD40) wait a while and oil again and lightly tap the lockring off after dropping the tank or removing the bed.

Why not WD40? Just curious.

Simple check is to turn the key to run and listen for the fuel pump to prime. Leave the driver door open and listen for that sound. If you don't hear it then fuel pump is possibly it.

Another check or two you can do is check fuel rail pressure when you turn the key is on and check the fuel pump fuse.
