I am wanting a leveling kit to help with fitting an older trailer to the truck. The trailer will be also modified to help out.

Ok those with 2500s that have leveled the truck out using spacers, how happy are you with it. Any real longterm issues. Basically are you wishing you had not done it?

I am thinking 2.5 spacer with correct shocks vs shock spacers.

Yes I know, this is a budget lift and not interested right now of the more costly coils and such.

Thanks in advance

I've had my 2" spacers in the front for a year-and-a-half and haven't had any problems

I see this a lot but I've never actually seen anyone on here or in real life have problems with spacers as long as proper shocks are used too

Went with a 2in spacer lift and relocation kit can't say I have had any issues only about 5k on the truck since been on the truck 11 months. Ride is identical to before as far as I can tell. Smooth road rides like a town car but you do feel the rough roads, I didn't expect any less for a truck that will hall 13k though.

I’m using the Rough Country 2.5 and love it. It sat it up perfectly level. Just remember to readjust your headlights.
Ohh hell I just remembered I still need to do that.

I love my truck!

Easy turbo... easy.. you want a lvl kit, no worries we will help you... no need to try and sell us the story you sold your wife about needing a “ LvL Kit to better fit a trailer” lol.

How heavy is said trailer? Remember once you lvl the truck “ The amount of weight in the back” is going to determine how much “Cali Lean” you have.. safe to say it’s gonna give the appearance of a lot of rear squat. Are you ok with that?

On the HD truck, personally I feel spacers are “ OK “ for leveling.

Check out these guys, you can get the Spacer and a new bilstien shock all in one package from them at a good price” beats running a flimsy shock extension on the factory shock.

After you Lvl it you may need to do an adjustable track bar, some have had to, some haven’t.

Hope this helps.

Give us some more info, 4x2/4x4?- year?- cab/configuration?

I also did the rough county 2.5 level kit and kept the bilstien shocks that came on mine. It sits 1/4 higher in the rear, which is perfect for my taste. I did install helper bags to avoid the “Cali lean” when towing our boat. It’s an easy dyi install if you have two jacks and tall jack stands.

Are you ok with that? A hair under 5000#, I hooked it up to try to get some measurements. As it sat on fairly level (only level place on the property) the bed clearance was 7" up front and 4" in the rear. WIith the trailer hitched, there was about 3/8" rear drop from the weight

Hope this helps. yup, thanks to all.

Right now looking into 3" blocks for the trailer (have to wait until monday when the stores open up). The axles have been already flipped.

For what you have there, I would definitely block the trailer or flip the trailer shackles. Altering the trailer will give you more clearance than a 2” locking kit on the front. But that’s just my opinion. That looks like one of the “ Smaller 1/2 ton towable” 5th wheels, ur truck should tow that really well. You are just going to have to figure out how to get it up a little higher. Possibly taller tires on the trailer as well to help?

Sorry missed the part about the axles already being flipped.

Tell the wife it’s time for a new trailer lol.

I ran a Rough Country level for 2 years. I didn't like how the springs sat on my 2014.

So I did Thuren springs/shocks. I didn't have any issues with my spacers the entire time, but once I had the coils/shocks on, the truck rode like a dream compared to the spacer.

It's a '95 24ft from the in-laws. We go camping maybe 4 times at the most a year and just wanted something bigger than the popup, esp with the 2 German Shepherds we have. 1 would break out of the canvas and the other would eat it. Plus being only about 5000#, won't kills us too much on the fuel.

Your truck looks perfectly level when the trailer is hooked up. If you level it your gonna need bags then too, unless you like towing with your headlights pointing into the trees.

The low trailer height is a whole other issue, that I would not try rectifying with a leveling kit.

Honestly, I would do springs they are not that expensive.
I'm not against spacers by any means but these new Rams have a weird bow or arch that the spring travels on and I just didn't like how a spacer seems to make it more exaggerated. If I was doing a spacer I think I would keep it 2" or under?
Will a spacer work? Absolutely, many are running them now with no issues. I just think for a couple extra dollars a spring would give you better results.

I did a 2.3" Bilstien spring kit up front and a 1" rear spacer to add a little rake back in the truck.
