What’s up y’all, been a few years since I’ve been here. Had an extensive build log of my 12’ ram, and wound up totaling it and getting a new vehicle.

I recently did an install for a buddy who wanted to raise the bar for underseat enclosures, so I’ll share what we came up with.

The first build I did was for 4-8”s. And after a bit, he wanted to up his game...

So my plan was to cut out the cubby holes under the seat to free up as much space as possible

Cake walk....

Taped her up for glass, and you can see the amount of space we gained under the seat, which was already raised 1.25”.

Next step was to get to stackin, to determine what kinda space we would have then determine which subs we would go with

You see the carpet where the cup holders used to be, that’s something I’ll figure out how to contend with down the line. I’ll post some more of the progress shortly

Nice..... the wall is held in with a few tack welds. No way it’s structural

Once I got the perimeter built I made a router sled to to plane the top to get it perfectly flat.

Then cut the holes for the plexi glass.

Next was the double baffle and to come up with something that would cover the hole in the carpet where the cup holders were.

And the test fit.... she’s a beast

Thanks... the 8s were a little lacking in the lows, not terribly tho. Owner goes to a ton of shows so he was mostly Looking to change up the look, while adding a little more oomph to it

Here's a real question. What happened to the four 8's enclosure? That's badass

Ok I commented the other day,and am really really wanting to go ahead and remove the cubbies now , I have all tools ness.and I am more than able on the building although fiberglass skill not top notch, so that leads me to would you build another, and if so how much would you charge I would be more than willing to come to you where ever (main 48 state )if for beginning you needed the truck for the bottom fiberglass work and for payment and pick up

12 hours does not bother me 1 bit would leave right now , I built my own box , before I new you could remove cubbies, and I am a high end carpenter, and I did the carpet installation myself and I think it makes a really well built custom box look bad, I dont like it any wsyc0c4f06718549a506c00604cfc54cdb5.jpg57f94d7d3927cae60be0e70f07bb08fd.jpga66b14f537d904b4441db9f27cb313cc.jpg

With the cubby cut out, how much vertical space do you have at the front of the enclosure? Just wondering if you could put 10s or 12s front firing?

I would be down to build another. I’ll shoot you a pm in a bit and we’ll see if we can work something out.

I think it was right at 12”. 10s would def for forward firing, 12”s would be a stretch

Have to add a lil flare to the top.

16758a6bdaac28467829324fb91d8549.jpg

I don’t have many progress pics of the rest of the process cuz I would up getting staph infection in my thumb and had like 2 days to get this wrapped up for a show. I basically finished it one and a half handed.

The truck has a hulk theme so the customer wanted me to incorporate the fists that he also has under the hood

Needless to say, it bangs a lot harder and deeper than the 8s. Wound up with about 3 cuft of space after displacement. I was really pleased with how it came out.... customer was even more pleased, which is all that matters
