Those look horrible. Do you live in the rust belt?
Newfoundland, Canada. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean lol. And salt is used on the roads during winter sometimes.

And I thought Alberta was bad, you don't live in the rust belt you are the source of the rust belt lol! We use calcium on the roads makes a red truck pink if it stays kn the truck longer than a week. [emoji51]

Yes man. The winter is brutal on vehicles here. Either way a bad winter is no excuse for the bbk headers. I got 4-5 years out of my stock manifolds. The only reason I replaced them is because the studs broke off. They didn’t have rust holes. All in all, IMO listen to the rest of the forums about the bbk headers. They were horrible to install. Even worse to remove, and with my luck one side developed corrosion holes. I didn’t listen to the forums when I bought them, I just went for the cheapest way out. Won’t do that again.

Yeah I never did my research, seen them and figured hey those look ok impulse buy as well. Boy was I wrong! Stainless is the only way to go. Can't wait to get my new headers. [emoji16] Luckily my neighbors are 2 km away or they'd hate me!

Hi guys some updates.
After some work I finally manage to put my missing bolts (I widen a little the flange's hole). After checking all the bolts from the both sides it seems that some need a little retighten.
And by some miracle my leaks go away..no more irritating noises. I very pleased of the new exhaust sound and the headers still look great. Hope it will last.

Another reminder to not go with bbk. Took my headers off today because of ticking, 9 months old.... Real impressed. 5215ba1e9140be156ca4add84f9501d8.jpg

Is that header wrap on them?
Header wrap is a guaranteed way to make headers rust out. Usually will void any header warranty also.

I put some header wrap on my JBA ceramic coated stainless headers on my old 5.9, just in a few spots.
The only place that there was any rust on those headers when I took them off was where the wrap was installed - the rest of the header looked perfect.

Wow that's bad[emoji15]

That doesn't even look like 409 stainless, just raw steel....

BBK offers 2 options with shorty headers for the Gen 3 5.7.

Spend the extra to get the stainless ceramic coated version, the mild steel with plating is not holding up to the elements. For the $250 I spent it Was worth the attempt with proper wrapping and silicone coating to seal, we’ll see how long they last. The issue with wrapping alone is it holds moisture.

Has anyone had BBK uphold a warranty?
Mine failed in 2 spots primary to collector merge. Emailed tech and warranty without response yet. I would consider trying their ceramic and pay the difference but I won’t hold my breath.

BBK told me to go pound sand with an automated response. Sure, I’d love to carefully send them back for you to review and wait like I have nothing better to do with my time.

F-that, I’m cutting the primaries at the flange if the stock logs are going back in.

No refunds, like I want to waste more time with your garbage.

I’ll pull the y pipe back and see if I can put a bead on to nurse it til I can put long tubes on.

Anything added to this would be like rubbing salt into a wound. Sorry for your problems--

It’s supposed to get up near 30 degrees later this week when I repair or remove, so it could be worse!
