Hi

I’ve seen a few photos of trucks who have the bottom 1/3 of their sides Line-x.

I just got a price and I was blown away it was $1500 Canadian.

Wow.

I can’t see this being worth it.

Do people do this for the rust protection ?

Thanks

Alex

I checked with my local Line X place and they wanted a lot to do the lower rockers on my truck.... I think it's just the fact that some Line X places don't want to do anything other the truck beds.

Yeah sounds like some places don’t want to do it and just so happen to price themselves out of business. Oh shucks we charge to much, yay I mean darn.

6DBC04B1-C52C-4C89-AADA-37550486F5F5.jpeg I was priced 800 for just the rocker panels under the door on both sides. But was only charged 500 for the whole bed and 300 for my steps including sand blasting the steps. I’m assuming because it is tedious for them crawling under the truck so they charge more. I didn’t get mine done because that blew me away price wise. Now that I have steps protecting my rockers I’m less worried about debris kicking up into my rockers

If you are competent and confident, you could attempt it DIY with say Raptorliner...obviously its a risky venture, but a valid option. I have the cahones to do my bed, but the outside panels...makes my grapes retract....

Great idea.

I’ll do my truck bed next weekend and depending on how it goes I’ll do the sides the following weekend.

Well I took the plunge and sprayed my truck bed with Raptor bed liner.

A lot easier than expected.

Once I figure out how to tint it I’ll spray the lower half of the doors, 1/4 panels etc.

Where did you get the quote from? You should get a second quote from another dealer. I've dealt with Linex Burlington for my old 2010 F-150 and was really happy with the job they did. They are also a Krown dealer that I've dealt with for various services over the past 20 years. Paul Shaheen is the owner....solid guy.

Yesterday I Raptor lined the side of my truck.

The spraying process wasn’t too bad but it took a while to mask it off.

I tried to color match but found a small issue. According to instructions you’re supposed to add 100 mL of paint that every container of raptor liner.

But after you fill up the container with the activator there’s is not quite enough room for the entire 100 mL of paint.

I also sprayed the rear bumper and a piece of front chrome.

The only chrome piece remaining is my chrome grill. Since I need to repaint the front hood I will just paint the grill at that time. I think covering it in Raptor liner would have been over kill.

It took two bottles to do two coats on the rear bumper, front chrome trim, and both sides of the truck.

Not perfect but not bad for $70 in materials.
