Ive had a grinding sound in my front drivers side tire for a month or so. I figured it was a caliper/brake pad dragging or a bent dust shield. finally had the time to pull the tire this morning and couldnt figure out what it was, so I took it to a local repair shop. They charged me $500 for the front hub assembly, $285 for labor and $85 for an alignment. Total out the door was $942. This seemed like a lot, but needed it done as we've got a road trip tomorrow.
Googling a Moog hub assembly for my truck shows a price of $220 @ advanced auto, and videos look like it takes an hour or 2 for an average guy to swap. Did I get taken for a ride?
Im considering doing the front passenger side myself as im sure its not far behind its counterpart.
