I am coming from the Jeep world back into trucks. In my Jeep I had a dead pedal to rest my foot on. Has anyone installed one in their truck? or is it even available? Thanks

Get out the old rusted saw and cut a block from a 2x4 and your done

I go in next weekend for another mounting hardware test.

I am very happy with this one, but I understand the frustration.

Here at the shop doing install of new mounting hardware right now .

Had to slice into insulation (sound deadening mat).

That mat is captured behind so many bracket, wires, e-brake cable, etc. It is impractical to just roll it back.

Would people be willing to cut their firewall insulation to install?

Not remove, just slice.

I’d be ok with a small slice to access a mounting hole.

been looking and I havent found anything. I have an email in with one of our manufacturers who we got to make them for Raptors. Its no guarantee but I'll update you guys when i hear back.

can you get them to make an armrest pad that a guy could bolt onto the hard plastic arms? I think they would sell a ton of them!

Can you post a pic of the hard plastic arm you are talking about?

Hope that works. All it would need is like a 1/2" thick foam pad with a cloth, vinyl or leather cover with a 1/4 inch deep plastic base. base screws into the hard armrest surface with self tapping screws or the door panel comes off and screws up from bottom into some kind of embedded nuts. then the pad could just click in, in either case. I used to work for the red cross and repaired a lot of wheelchairs replacing the pads. They all basically used the same system which was screws from underneath into the armrest base. An expanding rivet of some kind could work for a top mount system as well I think. i wouldn't care if it covered that little change/dust collector cup thingie either. I use it for....nothing. I looked in there the other day and its got every bit of airborne grime and gunk possible. probably a bug or 2 as well. and so much fun to clean out given it's size!

that damn armrest hits right on the funny bone of the elbow and there is no relief short of resting your arm on the window (not so comfy or practical in all season climates. lol. or periodically taking your arm off the rest. Even on a short drive I hate it. Imagine if they didn't pad the center console armrest. The only thing that could have driven this decision to have hard door armrests is money. just stupid.

i'll step off my soapbox now:)

Well the dead pedal is now mounted using 1/4" rubber rivnuts.

It has a little bit of flex under full weight, I may try tightening it up a little more as time goes by. But we are talking about rubber afterall....it will never be particularly solid.

Going to put it through its paces again over next couple weeks.

Based on how much reaction/feedback we see here, and what Nick and Cravenspeed will determine if this goes into production.

So far, you would need to drill a couple holes 1/2", cut the rubber/foam insulation in order to install.

They are concerned that will be very off-putting to most customers. So, if you would be ok doing those things, and truly want this dead pedal, we need you to voice that.

Let's hear opinions/thoughts/feedback.

My dead pedal uses a self tapping screw to secure a bar to the same frame that the emergency brake is mounted on. The lower portion is rubber feet that presses against the floor.

Once I have thoroughly tested this way, I think I will attempt some self tapping screws into the two small holes at the bottom into the floor pan to see if it gets any more solid.2bb67bb5326f8332e67a9a48c35f6ba5.jpg234a155aa994c5e39387361dc19c1e75.jpg41806a092134e8068f89863084ab8a20.jpg7649b94eb12cf6e0e07917e4f778818b.jpg
