20 lb propane tanks (BBQ type) fit nicely in a milk crate. That will stabilize them. Easy to secure them to the milk crate too.
Ratchet straps should work well for those and the coolers. Run a 2x6 across the bed to help hold things in place.

If you look close ( or not so close) the box sides have slots that can accept a 2x4, 2x6, 2x8 board cut to the correct length that can section off the front portion of the box for small items. This section is deep enough for a 20lbs propane cylinder to sit between the board and tailgate. I also use ratchet straps to secure the tank in a left/right sense. Spend what you like for lumber of choice and detail it as you like. I added hand holds this time out. .

Best mod ever!!! I put roll on bed liner on my board. I really like the cut outs you have in yours.... might have to do that to mine.

I cut a chunk of 2x8 to run across the back area of my bed. I have three 5 gallon race jugs of alcohol, a 2000 watt generator and a block of wood for under my trailer jack foot that fits across the back perfect. I have a spare trailer tire/wheel, a plastic tote for hand tools, a large 4 way lug wrench, an aluminum tire ramp/lift designed for pulling a trailer tire onto so it lifts the other tire off the ground to change, a portable air compressor, two moving blankets, an air line and a funnel for the alcohol.

That's just off the top of my mind... might be a few other things. I was amazed at the amount of things I can fit in this short 5'7" bed without stacking stuff on top of other things.

I unload the fuel jugs and generator when not hauling the race truck to the track.

My 03 SLT QC had the same box slots formed in the Mopar abs box liner that my buddy had installed since new, before I bought the truck from him. This slot system also ran in a horizontal manner in the box liner above the wheel well height. With three boards cut to the correct box width length you could support a full width 4x8 sheet of plywood in the box above the wheel wells,...an ingenious bit of design work.

Milk crate

Chain and snap hooks of your choice from hardware store on each end.

Run chain through eye near the bottom of the side/bed and hook to milk crate.

Works like a champ.

Also-you can use a bungee or another chain to secure additional items to your crate

I bought the abn cargo bar off Amazon and it worked well for a while. Slightest bend in the bar and trash. Worked ok for light cargo. Need to find something to replace, following

Measure the width, go to your local lowes or home depot, tell them you need a piece of wood cut to those specifications. They typically dont charge extra for cutting things down for you.

Load Bar from a truck stop can be cut down to fit inside the pick up bed. Heavy Duty enough for a semi cargo trailer.

Ratcheting bed bar and cut boards in bedliner slots for large item movement.
Bak Revolver X2 for low profile stuff that keeps it dry and secure.
Spider next for lots of loose stuff above bed rails.
Ratchet straps for tall items.
Totes/Bins for smaller stuff that requires more organization.

Considering building a flat, false floor with drawers to have organized storage, 5' wide floor, and cubbies behind the wheel wells with hinged lids. Stall mat, or similar on top of it for mild water resistance, grip, and impact protection.

In case anybody was wondering: copy and paste of mail to a member.

2018 RAM Sport, 5’7” box with spray on factory bed liner. My board is 67” long and looks like 2x8 but measures out to 2x7 (go figure). If I had to do it over again I’d go 67 1/16” or 67 1/8” to get a snug/ tighter fit to the box sides. That said I do not hear the board banging around while I drive and it’s easy to lift out. I contured the lower corners to fit the box contours, but forget what I used as a template for the radius,...maybe the lid off a paint can or something similar ? No rocket science used in the production of this thing at all.
