Wondering if anyone can suggest from experience a good road/street tire for my '17 crew cab Lone Star. The SRA's are trash....just hit 22000 miles and they look horrible. I live in Houston, do a lot of highway driving, to and from work 30 miles each way. Looking for good traction in the rain. I still have the stock wheels so I will be using stock size. It's a 2wd so I don't offroad, drive in mud, etc. Live in Houston so no,snow. I would really prefer a street tire, but not opposed to an AT or something similar as long as its nothing with crazy aggressive tread, too loud, and has good traction on wet roads. Trying to keep as close to a "stock" look as possible. Thanks in advance!

bahahaha. My son says I need to try out Dauntless on my Xbox. He gives me pretty good game recommendations that end up costing me way too much money when i get into them.

Firestone destination LE's for the street also the ATs arent really aggressive like some others and have a good tread life. If I remember correctly it was rated at 65k I use to sell a ton of them but it's been a few years

Haven't replaced the factory tires on my truck yet, but Michelin Defenders are a great all around tire. A little pricy, but you get what you pay for.
Personally, I'm going to be putting Pirelli Scorpion Verdes all the way around. From what I understand, they offer incredible handling, and have one of the highest speed ratings available for our trucks from discount tire

I was going to get michelin defenders but got brand new take off SRA's for next to nothing. Mine have always worked great.
Plus they came mounted on stock 20" wheels. So I sold my 17's.

I've been curious about the Pirellis. They make very good motorbike tires but usually more expensive than options. But it seems compared to the price of KO2 and Nitto Terra Grapplers at my usual go to tire store, they are pretty much in line with them.

One thing I've noticed with the Nito's and the KO2's is they don't show a mileage rating on them, at least on the site I go to. haven't figured out whey but i'd definitely if considering when the time comes. On the face of it, that's a concern.

I hardly hear anything about the falken wildpeak H/T.

They ride quiet and smooth like the SR-A. When I first got them I had to keep checking my speedo. It seemed like I was slowing down.

About the cheapest brand name tire u can buy. They don't look so bad either.

They appear to be wearing fairly but too soon to tell.

So far my cheap ass has only 1 ill effect, my mpg. My Arturo all terrains got better.
I swear I lost about 2 mpg in combined city/highway. I'm ok with that as long they are not SR-A.

Yeah, so far the Falkens appear to be my best option. I can get them for about 1000 canadian pre balance & install locally. Any of the others I've been looking at are going to be at least 300 more as an option. I probably won't be in the market until next year so I look forward to your "road reports" on them!

The Goodyear SRA's are junk and dangerous tires to being with. Just like there polysteel radials they offered for over twenty plus years. The polysteel radials are/were just as cheap and dangerous budget tire that came standard equipment on most vehicles back in the day.
Buy a set of Michelin Defenders and don't look back. Yes, the Michelins are a little more expensive but they have a great tread life and are rated very well.
