Yeah, I thought it was the DEF tank at first. Then I only discovered it when I changed my floor mats out.

With the Weather-Tech floor mats, it's too much of a pain to use the undermat bins. I just put the entire kitchen sink in my Ram Boxes (that's why I insisted on them). One stop, everything is in there. Tire changing gear on passenger side, everything else on driver side.

While driving around the house and to work we use the bins for junk storage. While on the road for a trip we use them for snacks on one side and drinks on the other. All of which are getting harder for my wife to reach the older we get. LOL

thats a good idea especially about the drinks. it could be pretty hot on the upcoming road trip and i don't intent to stop for more than breakfast at the start at tim hortons and lunch halfway. Its a 10 hour drive, pretty much all straight and flat prairies. I hate the drive. best part of it is once we get past my home town which is nicknamed the Gateway to the North, tons of trees line the road on both sides of the highway for that final 25 minutes to the lake. that's when i get excited about getting there. Until then, hard to stay awake. i listen to a lot of loud music on that drive.

I did notice one of the boxes for it when i put on my sidesteps but thought maybe it was a mount for an amplifier or was part of the jack storage system under the front seat. figured i'd look further into it one day. I have a little tool pouch that fits perfectly into one of the boxes. what a cool idea for extra storage. Love it!!!!

Driver’s side has air bag compressor and relays!

Passenger’s side has 2 1/2” to 2” receiver adapter, Factor 55 Hitchlink 2.5, and a couple shackles!

I use it for stuff that you want to not get smashed in the back seat. Take home soup containers fit well and won't spill. I fill my Ram Boxes with all the tools and stuff. Keep the mechanic hand wipes and deep woods off in the other one.
Did not know they had drain plugs?

Well my wife insists we carry blankets and bottles of water in all vehicles for emergencies. The drivers side bin has a blanket and jumper cables. Passenger side is still empty but will probably put a few water bottles in it. Under the seat on the passenger side I have my 2" ball insert and my 2-2.5" adapter and my pin. On the drivers side I have a couple rachet straps. I also have a big umbrella and my long ice scraper going across both of them. Can't fit much more in them.

I knew about them years ago. My step-father has had a 2008, 2011, 2014 and now a 2017 and I know this 2017 has them and pretty sure the 2014 did too. Not sure about the others. But I always do my homework too and usually know more than the salesperson about it.

Passenger side I keep the teeth of the bodies. Here's a math question kids if I had 3,258 teeth how many people does that add up to? Drivers side skinned fingers so no one can identify them, (and some cheetos).

I don't think the under floor boxes have drain holes. The optional Ram-Boxes have drain holes, they hold a lot of ice & drinks, though they're not well insulated.

hmmmm...i'll have to look at mine. going by what my boss said on his 2018. i know he doesn't have Ram boxes, that's for sure!

He should have showed you, It should show them in your book, That is a joke,Read the BOOK??? I read the book when I can't figure out how to set some of the electronics, I have club cabs, so I don't have them, but have underseat storage, and a flat floor, Which the crew cab don't???

It’s a stupid design if you ask me. Most of not ALL people use some sort of mat. And if using floor liners of some sort it’s a PIA to get to them. I don’t use mine and probably never will.

The fact that a lot of people don’t know about them is a good indication if their uselessness.
