Yeah no comparison to TruTrac by any means, but I just didn't know if you had personal experience with them on these trucks. I'll probably just spend the couple hundred extra and go with the TruTrac though. Seen people rock crawl with them and that's saying a lot for an LSD unit.
No hands on experience with them for me so my comments on them are secondhand stories. However, they're very well documented as not being very good lol. My truck came open diff and then i upgraded so i can't say much else about them.

Drove the truck to work and beat on it a bit. Dont drive it much anymore with the new truck. Going to add EMS Locking hubs in a few months i think. Be about the time i get the engine back from machine shop and will delay that a bit but oh well

It seems my Chrysler 8.25" doesn't get much locker love. Mostly just Spartan Locker. I checked RockAuto and saw this SPARTAN LOCKER SLC82527 I found this but don't know if it's even any good. FFS I just watched the instillation video for this unit. It's stupid easy.

Fired the truck up yesterday and heard a gurgling noise behind the dash. Popped the hood and took the radiator cap off and discovered the radiator was low. Added water to the mix and brought it back up. Checked it again at 12 today before going out for lunch. It was low again but not crazy low. Also the heater core didn't gurgle this time. I forgot just how much of a PITA these engines are to put coolant back into and eliminate all air pockets. I have noticed my dash thermostat reads correctly now. The computer still reads 188 when it should read 195-200. So yesterday I ordered a replacement Mopar thermostat for the ECM that should show up Thursday.

Fired up the truck this morning and everything ran great I even moved it a bit to get it out of the mud, nothing crazy though. Went back into the house then came back out to see it shaking. Checked the codes. Multiple cylinder missfire, 5, 6, 7, & 8 and one for the vapor canister purge valve which is still plugged in but the vacuum lines aren't hooked up because the other end at the tank isn't hooked up. I lost the little rollover valve and can't find a replacement.

Honestly I'm about to sell this truck and walk away from it. I'm just so damn sick of having to fix one thing after another.

The truck ran great yesterday, last night it rained super hard and now this....

Check the parts yard, I broke the little canister some time ago on my old blue lowered ram, bought a used one and it cured my CEL.

That's what I planned at one point. Thing is I've never actually had a cel like that before. Would that cel actually cause a misfire though?

Misfires with rain is usually indicative of a cap/rotor issue or plug wires

I thought that too. The only thing that's throwing me off is that it didn't seem to do it when it first cranked and ran. I am going to check the cap and rotor when I get home. They're about 3 - 4 years old now. It's possible one of them cracked.

Actually.... That makes a lot of sense... It's very possible that it cracked right after starting. Shutting the truck off and cranking it again didn't make it go away so I know it isn't a closed loop vs open loop thing.

Thanks for the push dapepper9. It crossed my mind but that was about it.

Today I replaced the distributor cap and rotor. Those didn't solve the issue. Letting the truck idle and revving it a bit seemed to done the trick. So either the engine was flooded or it's the TPS. I will say that I did get a code that if I recall was for the TPS voltage being out of range. I suspect the one I've got is faulty or in the best case it is just shoddy quality.. Just so this doesn't surprise anyone.. it's an Autozone TPS.

LOL as soon as I read that you dumped it after the muffler that was my thought. That's how mine is setup but mine was due to a shortage of materials. I wanted it to kick out the side or run all the way back and I didn't have enough usable pipe to do either so it 90s straight down.

What did I do with my Dodge Ram today? Put it up for sale....Long story short, had motor out to rebuild, Hurricane Michael came along and flipped hood up and busted windshield, can seem to get motivated to fix it all, so keeping motor for another build. (selling locally for $1,000, NW Florida). I am buying another Ram 1500 this weekend if all goes well...

Tonight I replaced the AutoZone ECM temp sensor with a Mopar temp sensor. It now reads the correct temp. I stead of it saying 180-188F it now reads 190-195.8F.. .mostly 195.8 it only dips to 190 when I'm idling for a while or just take off from a red light. Apparently that sudden jump of coolant cools it down temporarily.
