I bought the truck a few weeks ago. Since the day I bought it the dash says twilight out. I checked all twilights even the 3rd brake light. All are working. But every time I start the truck it says twilight out on the passenger side. How do I get that reset.

Have you disconnected the battery yet to see if it clears it? I've read, disconnect, wait like 10 minutes, reconnect.

By chance would it have aftermarket bulbs in the tail lights?

Sir, this is a sure fix. Save yourself a lot of heartache and spend $130 on alphaOBD and OBD2 module and follow my tutorial. I have many on the subject.

I would check to see if any of the brake light bulbs are aftermarket LEDs. If so, any one of them is causing the issue. Just replace it with either a normal bulb or an LED that actually says that it's designed for CANBUS. There are a lot of people that have different brands that they recommend using on this site. I've had decent luck with LUYED from Amazon, but there are many brands out there.

Interesting ... I had the same issue with my truck, same taillight too. Do you have the factory LED tails?

Dealer said that "one of the LEDs was out" in my taillight and they replaced the LED. I'm not sure how they replaced one LED, but they assured me it was a single LED which cost $8 CAD (which they waived).

I will pull the bulbs tomorrow. The dealer I bought the truck from replaced the bulb. I don’t think they are led. Do oem tailights have led bulbs? 2016 Bighorn.

I will say this. I started the truck today and it said no stored messages. But within a few seconds it came back on.

The 3rd brake light can also cause the tail light out issue too,if the tail lights themselves have the proper bulbs, and are working, look closely at the 3rd brake light to make sure all the bulbs in it are functioning .

I swapped bulbs from one side to the other and no change. Still says pass side twilight is out.

I then pulled the negative battery term off for 15 min. Still says pass side twilight is out. I can see everything is working.

Bulbs are 3157 i believe. Dont look like LED. There standard bulbs

Next place to look would be 3rd brake light then.

The cluster just shoes a generic picture. It doesn’t actually show what light is out.

Is this true? Why wouldn’t it show which tailight is out. Seems odd

You’d have to ask whoever designed it lol. It confuses people all the time with the picture. It’d be a lot more useful if it did show which light instead of always the passenger side light. Should just say lamp out like the older trucks did, it would be less confusing for people.
