My truck is a Tradesman package, so the door panels are pretty basic. It never bothered me but now my driver door panel is cracking right where I put my elbow. My thought was to upgrade all the panels to something like an SLT or higher package, but I have some questions.

Is there a certain package I should look for to match the dash color of the tradesmen package or do all the trim level pretty much offer the black color?

And, if I change the outer panel to a different trim level, do I have to change the inner panel as well?

No you just change the outer panel. It takes around ten minutes. It's a very common upgrade. I used the SLT/Bighorn door panels and I think they match well but people use all different trim level door panels depending on their tastes. They will all fit with no modifications. The Quad Cab and Crew Cab use the same door panels for the front doors. Of course the rear door panels are different for the Quad Cab and the Crew Cab. The Regular Cab trucks use a different door panel than the Quad and the Crew. You can also install the chrome interior door handle covers if you want.

Talk to Benny @AllMoparParts.com he is the man on this stuff. I have the 2018 Tradesman with diesel grey interior and wanted big horn door panels. I shot him a vin and he shot me the part numbers.

This is on my list but at $1200 it’s going to have to wait a bit.

So, is there any reason that a 09-12 door panel wont work on my 15? They seem to be more readily available and cheaper, look good enough for my liking. They look similar in construction and are for the same body style, but I know sometimes they make subtle changes that prevent crossover installation.

boy these are hard to come by. I had a line on 4 of them that i am told were in very good condition. looked so from the picture of one. dirt cheap. i'm pissed cause the guy messaged ME off a want ad I put up. I messaged him back with some questions, last I heard from him. Maybe it was too good to be true. Have a line on a second set for twice as much but still a reasonable price but I have to drive 5 hours round trip to get them. worth it but I asked him if he could take 50 off. no response so far. i asked him some questions because they weren't terribly clean and pics can hide stuff with them. i really would rather get some locally and know what i can get them for without driving all over the place. I did a bit of work today and reached out to 5 wreckers in the area. popular items i guess (probably selling good ones to body shops?) only one said he had a bunch around. So I drive to his place and it's the typical everything's everywhere. nothing catalogued, nothing neat about this yard. stuff just thrown on top of stuff in the cabs. mountains of dirt and dust. he said i've got 2 like you want anyway and kept on telling me that and was sure he'd get 2 more. the back door looked ok. I would have cleaned it off if i intended to take it, but the front looked like a gopher sat on the top edge and gnawed at it and this dude is telling me..."is good! is good!". i finally said look...my truck is 4 months old. i'll live with the original panels until i can find 4 that I'll be happy with. comparing the 2 though, they sure made the ST panels garbage. at least a cushion arm wrest for God's sake.

Oh I can find them all day new. I'm just not going to spend the 400-450 canadian per panel they would cost me:) but thank you! Last night at 1130pm, the guy who i made an offer 50 dollars less for the 4 contacted me back. i said if they are in the shape he tells me they indeed are, i'll give him his asking price (300 canadian for the 4 for the exact same panel posted in this thread). after having checked the salvage yards availability and their prices, 300 canadian is a good price. And honestly, I just got over 9 months of keeping an eye out for good used tires for my son. I don't feel like anymore endless searches for used panels, calling salvage yards on the right day, finding one somewhere, then having to wait until i can find the next unicorn. I think the first guy's offer got into my head cause he said he had a set of 4 very good grey panels from a Bighorn for 150 bucks canadian. Sometimes things are too good to be true. As soon as i started asking some questions I never heard from him again. Its weird. I made one last attempt to reach him yesterday as in my mind we had a deal. Nothing back. He's dead to me. LOL. i'm going to the lake, 10 hour drive ahead Saturday. hoping i can get the new comfy panels in before I head out. I've had all 4 of the originals off 2 weeks ago to do speakers so in theory i can change them out in 1-1.5 hours.
