Just installed the pulsar on my truck today. I have bigger than stock tires and hate the pedal lag programmed into these trucks. So i went the pulsar route instead of a PC and speedometer calibrater. The pulsar solves both my issues cheaper then both mentioned above ideas.
My only gripe so far is mounting location in 2017 2500s. It’s a tight fit between mounting bracket and A/C lines. I had to bend the line a bit to make room. There isn’t a clearance between A/C line and PCM connection that i would like. I had enough room to slide a section of wire harness insulation over the A/C line to keep it from rubbing connector as well as help with heat on the connector. Hopefully it will be sufficient. Maybe someone has a better solution. Picture is below.
I will be driving from south Texas to Massachusetts next week, 2000 miles. I will be tracking fuel consumption and drivability. The terrain changes drastically as you drive north east so mpg will not be consistent along the whole trip as gravity sucks and will going through mountains and city traffic when i reach New England. I will log mpg for each fill up and section of route and elevation. Once i have the data i will determine best way to present the information.
I will either run in economy or tow without MDS. With my tires and size of truck MDS hardly comes on due to tire resistance and vehicle weight (7895lbs, roughly). I might have an extra 1000lbs of people and cargo.
