Hmmm, Who gets the new RK hood?

Nice, I couldn't zoom in enough to see the size. Looking at the sidewall height, I am assuming those are not 24's? Trying to get some perspective on the 24"/35 height combination.

The tire/wheel setup is 285/45/22

I thought about a 24'' wheel, but the tire price difference between a 22'' and 24'' was astronomical. I paid $185 per tire compared to $350+ per tire.

Looking back on it, I wish I would have gotten a bit more sidewall on these tires, but thats just me nit-picking.

I miss having two tone. As far as the hood goes I think you'll have to have a multi event competition between the 2 trucks. Winner gets the hood.

Haha!! I think I am going to put it on the ST. It will definitely compliment it's speed and sound. I can always swap it back and forth though since both trucks have the same paint code!

Well the st is at least low enough that people can see it and makes more sense. My way is more fun though. Thinking drag race on pavement and sand, drift course, hill climb and the tie breaker if needed is most women picked up on a friday night.

I see you put the Goodyear Fortera tires on there - what made you choose those, and how are they wearing?

$$$$$, and im a fan of Goodyear. I have a set of Goodyear Wrangler MT's on my Jeep and absolutely love them.

These tires were only $186 each. The rubber feels a bit soft, but that also means they are nice and grippy. They claim a 5-ply tread which is strong enough for everyday driving. Ive had no problems with them so far. In another couple thousand miles im going to rotate them. They are balanced well to. No wobbles or shakes while driving, and required hardly any balancing weights.

Yeah, height was another factor considered for the decision. I would have to go the the tie breaker for sure. My wife would definitely say I'm taking it too far and none of this truck stuff is cool with her any longer. Lol..

have you not learned the lesson of "buy her purse for 100 bucks, you get to spend 1000...buy her some shoes for 150 bucks, you get to spend 1500". I did this for years before my ex caught on.

probably part of why she's my ex

Haha!! My plan is to stay married! All jokes aside, my wife is cool. Probably wouldn't be ecstatic about that tie breaker though.

Who says you have to be the one picking up women. Ask her to do it.

Yeah this hood is def not for the Vavaram intake system because of location of air dump.

Could you elaborate more on this? I love the look of this hood but just purchased a vararam

The scoop directs the air to the rear passenger side of the hood where the mopar or most all other aftermarket Cai:s would be located.

I am sure the Vararam would still work as intended with this hood. Not sure if the way the underneath of the hood is molded would cause any fitment issues or cause any obstruction of airflow with the Vararam though

The clearances would need to be checked may or may not clear but as far as direct air being dumped on intake its not as functional due to location.

@Goose_1327 . I would think if you contacted RK, they should know the answer. I have no idea if anyone in here has this hood/Vararam combo.

The front of the hood underneath the scoop dips lower than a stock hood. I have not had a Vararam, but I wasn't sure if that low dip would obstruct airflow with a Vararam.

That's actually a Duraflex and not a RK Sport hood, but regardless, the molding underneath looks identical.
