I have had and continue to have good luck with the Nitto Ridge Grappler A/T. They cost more up front but they have lasted longer than any other tire I have tried including the ones listed. It is also the quietist tire and great for towing. I have gotten more bang for my buck with the Ridge Grappler especially with towing and the ply is heavy enough I can have the 70psi needed for my tps. I run them both on my 2500 Ram and on our Jeep. I run the same tire in a 37x14.50 r18 on the jeep. My truck tire is pictured below with about 45,000 miles on the tire. I have been very happy with both sets of tire and like I said the have lasted double the time and wear of others but that has been just my experience with them all.

I think these pro comp tires from 4wheel parts are hard to beat. 65k treadwear warranty and you can catch them a lot of times 25% off without sales tax.

If you get the Falken AT3W P rated they're not going to last long under the truck weight. E rated will wear like a tank though. It's crazy the tire compound will make that much difference. My 315/70/17 E rated were 19/32 new, i also have 285/70/17 in my other truck (10 silverado 1500 crew cab) and they were 13/32 thread new.
I have about 17k miles on the 315's and the tire are down to 16/32, i run those at 36 psi in the RAM
In contrast the set in the Silverado are down to 6/32 at about 22k miles, same psi. Doubt i'll get to 30k miles as i have another 2/32 more to go before dumping them in the trash.

They're great AT tires for pretty much any terrain except heavy mud of course, i know i keep thinking to get rid of the the ones i have in the RAM this early because they have a 2 ply sidewall, but those 2 plys are fairly thick and i mean thick as hell. They won't chunk in rocky terrain, and their sidewall can actually take tons of abuse under those conditions, they're great in snow/slugde, they're great in the rain, and they were like iron in the dry. Only negative can be found in the noise departmet if noise bothers you, you get none when new, but just wait after their first 6-7k miles or so, they'll start singing after that, noise doesn't bother me one bit i just wish i had MT's since i can hear them loud and clear at almost 20k miles :)

I got 70k miles out of my Nitto Terra Grapplers. I would recommend them hands down. Decent all around performer too.

What size, I'm assuming E rated as I don't tow heavy so I'm looking at XL which are only warrantied to 50k miles.

So do you not like your Wildpeaks? I'm looking at some now and plan on getting the 10 ply.

Know several people that own and have been researching dilligently.
I am on my last rotation of Amp AtGs that needed constant rotation and balancing. What can you expect from a $700 set of tires, they never let me down though and for 13" wide were not terrible in Wisconsin winter/mud.

Sounds good they must had went up because the 285/65/20 10 ply are varying around $1300 where I'm at I've priced checked 4 different stores. I've just heard some good things about them that's the only reason I asked what problems you've had with them I appreciate you getting back with me.

Yeah I’m going back to a 275/60 for price and weight saving as I get further into performance. 20-40 additional pounds of rotational mass in 12.5 wide and 35” tall tires will also kill economy. Once you start getting taller and wider from OEM, tire manufacturers really start making you pay for their tooling like an instant $100-200 per tire.

Ridiculous, I emailed several about rubber pricing increases and they have yet to respond. All in the marketing of the current "brodozer" trend.

I've had a couple sets of Cooper AT3's and love them. I put them on the wife's jeep and when needed they will go on my 17 Ram.

First set were 33s and the original Terra Grappler. Ran to 70k.

Second set was 35s of the G2 version. Was at 40k with tons of tread when I sold the truck.

Used on muddy forest roads and desert. Work like a champ. If AT is your plan you will do well with them.

Hey Guys it is time for tires for my '14 4WD RAM Express.

I like running AT tires on 4x4 trucks. I really don't have any plans of ever off-roading this thing but I've found over the years that "street" tires are soft and easily punctured by road debris. Over the years my favorite was the old BFG ATs but pricing a set for this truck rang up to $1000. YIKES!!!! And check as I might I could NOT find a tire shop (or online) that offered some kind of good deal. It use to be (almost always) if you were buying a set of 4, it was "Buy 3 get the 4th free" Or Buy a set of 4 get them for XX dollars each (substantial discount). Or even, Buy a set of 4, free mount and balance.
Well, looks like that is a thing of the past. I can't find any kind of deal or discount on BFG ATs. But if I look at other brands, I do see some pretty good deals. One is the Cooper Discoverer RTX, buy 3 get 1 free. A set of these will only set me back by $630 bux instead of a grand.
Any opinion on this Cooper tire?
I really have NO experience on this brand and I've always been gun shy about trying unfamiliar brands because when I did the tires were crap.
General Grabber HTS60 is a good tire.... I use them now and it's smooth and good

On my 2015 1500 express I was running Cooper Discoverers and I had vibration ,,,the dealer told me it was the wheels so we replaced them ,,then it was the balance so that was done twice ,,,finally found out it was 2 tires out of round. I have used Cooper tires for over 15 years no problem. A friend who is an automotive freelance said they have stopped checking tires for out of round ..just passing on what i was told...good luck

For anyone in the market for 285/60/20s, the Falken Wildpeaks are on sale at Simple Tire right now for $266.

for my '17 ram 4x4 CC, I did research on Tire Tire Rack. The Firestone Destination AT was top ranked (braking, wet/snow traction, wear, quietness), but Yokohama Geolander AT was just behind in all rankings, and $30/tire cheaper. I've got 11k miles on my Geolanders with no complaints.

Another thumbs up for Yokohama's G015. Have had both P rated and LT rated versions and both are great tires.

I just put on Wildpeak AT3 last week and love them. Just did a 300 mile trip and very quiet. Around town they’ve been great too. And I think they look great

Only $1000? I paid $1800 for my tires mounted, balanced, and the alignment. Of course I’m running a little bigger then stock. If you have to deal with snow in the winter you’ll want the BFG KO2’s. They’re a little more, but worth it.

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but man, do they ever come up with some great ideas
